Bald Bloke
Before tonight I said.. Lynn's engine room was struggling away. I said Klindt and Josh would out score Lynn's 3 of TJ, Ty and Riss. Some Lynn fans questioned this.... Ty, TJ and Riss =11....Klindt and Josh 17. I also so said Poole's reserves are stronger than Lynn's…. Poole 16.... Lynn 8...…. Some Lynn fans thought I was negative... What do I know. Ghosty
I am a complete neutral, have been involved in speedway for over 50 years (including riding a bit) only watched the last 5 heats as I had other commitments, but what I saw was Poole + the referee v. Kings Lynn!!!!! speedway digs itself future in it's grave..........
DizzAssStar
Presumably Ackroyd is now picking up his hefty pay bonus from Fraud................. disgraceful in the extreme.

Daniel Smith
King's Lynn have no chance of pulling back 16 points. Job done by the Pirates. Disappointed Allitt didn't drill the referee a new hole. Very costly decisions and he just accepted them.
RebelDan
Poole had 8 riders tonight the ref was a complete homer and made a mockery of the grand final. Seriously how could you exclude MPT in heat 12 - what a farce.

krompa
If both Danes are fit for Wednesday then don't write KL off. 16 is a lot, 12 would be catchable. Need to be sharp from the start. At least whole speedway world will keep fingers crossed for Stars now, after such a big help Pirates had from referee. 3

Teromaafan
Here we go again, but the Referee's decision regarding the Heat 12 exclusion really is totally embarrassing for Haemorrhoid/Ackroyd (however it is spelt/pronounced). BT Sport provided sufficient camera angles for there to be absolutely no doubt that MPT was in front and was knocked off by his opponent attempting to come under him as they entered bend 3. It wasn't malicious, but the race has to be stopped and someone is responsible for that and has to be excluded. With enough camera angles and opportunities to replay the incident how on earth can MPT be at fault? Incidents like this are not even down to opinion, it is surely fact. If the Ref gets that wrong, what does it say about his decisions without the benefit of TV cameras at meetings? Apparently he was not available for interviewing as the cameras could not film that far up Matt Ford's a*se.
Steve Shovlar
Well I have just read through this thread with tears of laughter in my eyes. What a load of Poole haters on here tonight. Mind you I do agree with one thing. The ref made a howler. He warned Ellis. And what happened? Ellis then rolled to two victories. The crowd clearly saw him roll but the ref let it go. Very unfair. What’s the point of warning a rider then allowing him to get away with it twice more? Elliss got his come uppance in heat 13 and heat 15, but the six points he scored shouldn’t have happened. As for everything else, I though the ref got it all correct. Toft took a dive, could easily have stayed up. This is the final. Racing is hard. If there was the slightest of touches, it wasn’t enough and like Doyle last week, the refs are wised up. Pirate fans couldn’t have asked or expected for more. A 16 point lead. In all the playoff history I can’t remember such a lead being turned over, so Kings Lynn will have to break records to win the title this year. A fabulous performance from the boys, who even after allowing Kings Lynn a comeback mid meeting pulled away again. Is 16 enough? Possibly. Possibly not. Middlo said in the post meeting conference that Buster Chapman has already spent the day cooking the track to make it ultra grippy, as he did last time when Poole visited. The boys said they were all expecting it to be grippy and will be ready for it. Very pleased at half time. The boys have said there will be no complacency and they will be going to Kings Lynn to win. Expecting Kings Lynn to come out all guns blazing so we will need to keep it tight.

I, too, used to think that if enough TV cameras were available to view, no referee could ruin a sporting spectacle. Then I saw the Football World Cup Final earlier in the year.... No matter the sport, some referees will just see things that others don't! Far from the thriller I was hoping for and it won't go down as one of the Play-Off greats, but an interesting meeting, if only for the controversy! Delicately poised @ 16 point lead. Much will depend on Palm Toft's fitness, and what sort of track Mr Chapman produces. Certainly if MPT is fit, the King's Lynn reserves can do what Worrall and Jakobsen did tonight - think it's another one that will go down to the wire. stevebrum
Poole get most of the luck and a ref on their side. It’s all there’s to lose now. the injury to Iversen has as good as handed the title on a plate. have to feel for Kings Lynn who always seem to have the worst luck.
