Fromafar is right though, the official site regarding home meeting announcements and previews is abysmal at times with the meeting previews not coming out until and Friday night or a Saturday morning.

Should see some others    Think Berwick have changed web address   Like all clubs it will be done by volunteers who no doubt have day jobs too?

Doesnt mr Dick Barrie post on this forum?????? Surely not after all his previous comments in the Berwick programme/announcements?!

thought not! As only a Dick Head would go against his word like that!?

Sad news on club website:

Alan Taylor, who died yesterday aged 64, was the youngest son of Danny and Liz Taylor, the founders of speedway at Berwick-on-Tweed.

Despite being a double amputee in later years, Alan always had a cheery grin for everyone and anyone as he wheeled himself around our pits on regular Shielfield Park visits, never letting his situation dampen an indomitable spirit.

Just last summer he took on and conquered the 96-mile West Highland Way on an adapted mobility scooter, raising £3,000 for the ‘Finding Your Feet’ charity, which helps people adjust to normal living after amputation.

Born into such a ‘speedway daft’ family, it was no surprise to see the teenage Alan riding in second-half races for a time in the early ‘seventies to prove to himself, as he would say; “I wasn’t going to a  World Champion, or even a full-time Berwick Bandit” before settling down in Airdrie,  Lanarkshire.

He is survived by wife Jeanette, children Darren and Vicky and four grandchilden, to all of whom, as well as to the extended Taylor family for which this club owes so much, we extend our deepest sympathy at this sad time.
