In the K O C the first leg off New v Wor Q / F was raced 8/7, 11weeks later the second leg will be raced. Why can only think we had a bad SUMMER I totally agree with cut off dates as during August & September, the League has took priority because it has a cut off date(although this was extended) as almost all teams would. It certainly is an area that needs addressing in 2019 if the same competitions are run.

I think that the Saturday 29th would be a no go for Glasgow too, both of those meetings in Germany and Czech Republic are lunchtime starts. Kyle Bickley is also involved in the Czech junior Golden Ribbon meeting on the Saturday.
Paulco
This will be interesting . Just over a month to get three competitions done and dusted and getting dates that suit all concerned . Might need to look out the Santa hats by the time we get to the finals . 2

Honestly That looks like the only available date for Workington/Glasgow is the 5th/6th October 2018 to run this play off Semi Final? Interesting If Workington get past Newcastle in the Knock Out Cup tomorrow I would assume that the Edinburgh Semi Final would be run over the 29th/30th September weekend and if they get past the Monarchs and the Scorpions in the Shield on Saturday it would leave the last three weekends in October reserved for the three finals Or will we run into November? No surely not! no one would have that much clout! would they? Regards THJ

Edinburgh have been through since June and still don't know who they are racing. See Rospigarna led their semifinal 51-39 going into their home leg (with Doyle, Fricke, Lambert etc) and still lost on aggregate
Neila
At this rate with no dates agreed for one reason or another meeting abroad or someone washing their hair, looks like it's gonna be Xmas before season is finished, ant the weather still has to have a turn in deciding when the meetings maybe run
Gazc
Just a thought but if mother nature decides to pi*s on our parade literally and we end up not completing the season due to the weather and/or failing to get meetings run, how stupid are the people running our sport going to look after the warmest summer in decades. There decision to alter the fixture calendar could ultimately cost them there jobs (here's hoping). The trouble is it won't cost them there jobs Chapman & Godfrey are as thick as thieves and will back each other as they know what is best for British speedway , wink & a nod and all that sort of stuff . I am still waiting for Chapman's vision of clarity that was promised when he took over as BSPA chairman, if things don't change then it's going to be a long wait with more clubs going to the wall.

MANSE
After reading the latest posts on this thread I decided to do a exercise on the two Saturday tracks Berwick race night Saturday Workington race night Saturday alternative night Friday,From Sat 7/4 to Sat 30/6 is 13 Saturdays Berwick raced 10 meetings 1 rained off, 2 with no meeting. Workington raced 4 meetings { 2 v Glasgow 1 v Edin 1 v BER on a Friday ) 1 rained off and 8 with no meetings . Looking at these facts Berwick 2 no meetings, Workington 8 no meetings in the same period nothing to do with Godfrey and Chapman if Berwick can do it [young promotion ] why cant Workington do it now await all the flak but figures do not lie 3
TonyE
I don't doubt your figures - may be it is a case of not being able to find any opposition willing to visit on those dates.
