I agree with you that their 'tracks' are probably not fit for purpose....but I really don't care about Plymouth/Eastbourne completing their fixtures?

At the end of the day, the teams that finish above 'us' in the league will be the teams that have 'beat' us and deserve to be there.....so from a  B'ham perspective, I can't see any room for argument/debate?

Plymouth may be/feel hard done by, but even they've had to cancel meetings because of sewage problems?

Only I meeting cancelled through sewage problem. Like most teams injuries and lack of replacements have been the Devils downfall. We've ridden the last few meetings of the season with 4 riders really. No unattached 3 pointers to fill the reserve spots, the guys we've used have tried their best but when they have to take 6 rides it makes it so much more difficult for the riders who can score to make any impact..

Len is a law unto himself

True but still the most likely choice. Mildenhall have gone well at Kent a couple of times this year and cleared 50 at home each time. Whereas Brum have run them close, Cov can be tricky at their place and Plymouth is a major trek. Common sense says take Kent & hope someone else does a job on Eastbourne prior to the final?

I assume the new averages come out 1st October, if thats the case then its another reason for Mild to pick Kent. Hurry will be 4th in the averages so Kent will effectively lose their No1 & only be able to use r/r to cover for Hurry (Rowe, Hampshire & reserves). Makes them sitting ducks in the play offs & 2nd leg of the KO cup.

Excellent spot that. Although with the length of Hampshires injury unknown it could be RR for him and a guest for Hurry?

Maybe Dan Gilkes as a ringer reserve. He was mightily impressive at Central Park last Monday.

Very impressive but he has been reluctant all season and technically a reserve from one of the sides has to be missing for a reason of their choosing. The precedent has been set with Scunthorpe so clubs can no longer drop riders at this stage. If O'Keefe wants to ride Kent are a bit stuck, if the opt not to use him and can land Gilkes it would enhance their chances BUT if O'Keefe were to go public it could land them (or any other club) in hot water.

‘Any other reason’ in the NL. If someone wants Gilkes, and he agrees, they’ll get away with it.

Let’s get one thing straight, Birmingham only have them selfs to blame for not reaching the Playoffs by refusing to ride at Buxton, when the sun was shining, no rain, and 2 Referees that were in attendance watching confirmed the track was fine,

No they didn't. A Buxton rider tried it out for a couple of laps and nearly fell off, so the referee called it off.

Sorry you are wrong, ask Jane Moss, The Ref was more than happy for the meeting to start, then the Birmingham Manager and riders started to moan,

JJ Can you inform us why when it was persistent rain, the Track was soaking, gale force winds, but the Birmingham Manager and Riders wanted to race, oh yes that was in September and they need to race to get in the playoffs, If you were at both meetings please tell us which was the most dangerous conditions

Guess you will have to ask Tom Woolley. He was the only guy to race on both tracks. Nearly binned it on turns 3 and 4 in the first cancelled meeting. Stayed on his bike in the race he completed in the September meeting.

Doesn't make any difference either way as the first cancelled meeting was a trophy meeting not a league meeting.

Tough season to watch Birmingham, too many accidents and injuries. Glad it is over, as didn't want to watch however many guests and r/r in the play offs.

Perhaps they should change it back to a straight league system, then no cut off date. Best team over the season wins. This season Mildenhall are bar far the best team but now have to enter the play offs without two of their top riders.

If they want to tack on a play off - gold cup type event either forget the trophy or the meaningless friendlies at the start of the season.

Good luck to Leon in NLRC. I will be cheering him on.
