I thought we rode brilliantly at Somerset. I was one of the many Poole fans there who thought before the meeting that we could be spanked, but Middlo shows us yet again why he is the best in the business by rallying his team to put in a superb performance.

I spoke to Middlo briefly before the meeting and he said he will give the mother of all track talks and that’s what he did, with the help of Gary May and his “we are gonna smash ‘em” comment. Gary was even saying before the meeting he wanted a 20 point lead over the tannoy. What more incentive could our lot want?

It’s not over yet of course. But we now have the chance to get through to the final, and with it further glory. We are still underdogs to win the championship but our odds are slowly coming down.

Roll on next Monday. Should be one hell of a meeting.

At lease you are still posting Steve. If you read my posts on the other poole sites, you will see i was one of very few who didnt think we would get hammered. As you rightly say, not over yet by a long chalk. We need to assert our authority quickly. i wouldnt fancy Golden heats.

If we adopt a similar gameplan as we did at the Oaktree, by letting Doyle do his thing and ensuring only one or two last places then a couple of 5-1's with a couple fewer  3-3s and 4-2s will be ok

Not going to do any score predictions until I know what the revised riding order will be.:t:

I agree next monday will be a tight but i didn't think for one second that we would keep it so close, May certainly helped and now we have a massive chance to get to the final. If Middlo can work his magic once again and the riders can give everything like they did at Somerset we have a great chance but i remember us drawing Belle Vue in the final and only just scraping home a  few years ago so its certainly not over and  Covatti at reserve will be a big plus for Somerset.

is covatti somehow going to find speed by going to reserve ... have you had a look who reserves race same guys as a number 3 the only difference is you have a reserve race in ht 2

He guested at Poole earlier in the season and scored a lot of points and going to reserve will help his confidence. He may not be in great form but he is a good rider who could easily beat our reserves.

Just have to outgate him. He was fast when he gated but less effective if we got in front of him.

If we win the toss I would chose heat 15 and let Somerset have 1 and 3 in heat 1.

Well he overtook on a couple of occasions at Somerset in the league match but in general he doesn't overtake much but is a decent rider to have at reserve. Not sure about the gates but i take your point it may better to save 1 and 3 for heat 2 but as last monday showed this meeting has all the signs of going all the way.

Oh Dear

Woryna has just cost his team promotion to POL EXL.

On a 5-1 in clear second when he had a puncture on lap 3 of Ht 13. A stone last in ht 15 was the final nail in the coffin. His loss of points in  effect cost his team the move up to the big league. Even lost out to Jonsson in top of points av for Nice 1 due to those 2 rides.

Mind you one can add the useless efforts of Spaniak who again proved he was a one season wonder in 2017. You remember the guy who  was top of the POL Nice 1 points av in 2017. How the mighty have fallen huh ??

Lets hope Kacper's luck changes for Poole.

Woryna didn’t cost his team. He wasn’t at fault for a puncture. The reason Rybnik failed to make it was the ref, calling back a heat when Robert Lambert moved. Woryna was away and gone with Lambert missing it. In the rerun the home team gated to a 5-1. And add to that a dubious decision where Batchelor was caught on the line when it looked from replays he had just won the heat by a tyre.

Of course not his fault but the fact remains that IF he had not had one and maybe scored at least a point in his final  ride then it probably would have been Rybnik who would have been promoted.

Yes there were some dodgy decisions but home sides normally get some in their favour.

I think Lebedev knew Rybniks game was up when he looked and saw Woryna was not behind him as he was absolutely furious having won the race thinking maybe they were on for a 5-1. They were no doubt unlucky what also with injury to their decent junior in the junior finals on Friday, and Spaniak proving yet again what a poor season he has had.

To much is put on Woryna who we have to remember even though he dropped a league is in his first season as a senior and number one where he is always pitched against still some decent riders rather than when he was in the EXTR League last season as still a junior.

Personally feel gutted for him as I am sure they knew after that puncture that it was near enough impossible. Even if the aggr scores had been equal then Lublin went thru due to having finished above Rybnik in the league.

All NOT lost  though as they now meet Fabulaz over 2 legs. Maybe their loss of Dudek for rest of the season may weaken them ??

Lambert must be happy. Got away with one today and now will be POL EXL next season irrespective of if he stays or if one of the big guns come knocking which maybe a possibility ??

Like Belle Vue, Rybnik's real misfortune was in losing Bewley. His 5 meeting average of 2.36 would place him second in the League 1 averages. That is above both Woryna and Lambert, in fact above everyone apart from Jonsson. With Dan in the team they would probably have won.

Probably.
