Newcastle v Lakeside - 26 August

Recommended Posts

No thread for this meeting as far as I know.

Lakeside website has no information - given the weather forecast, perhaps they do not expect it to go ahead. It would be helpful to know just what team they were hoping to track though (so everyone could check that it was legal).

Hopefully this goes ahead,,,after last night if it does not will prove to  be an expensive waste of a week end for Lakeside,,, 3 nights on the trott of none events...all these lost meetings could prove costly when the cut off date arrives......

Josh Pickering guests for Newman hand injury .....RR for Lawson ,,not ideal but who knows Pickering said to go well at Newcastle...The bigger loss is likely to be Lawson....

Looks like Josh Pickering saved us from an even bigger defeat, he and Adam put Nick Morris to shame, surely a top flight heat leader should be scoring a lot more than 4 points in the second tier?

Nick missed his last two rides through injury and retired in one race?

Nick wasn’t up for it, pulled up after first bend, did not look to work on bike before next ride. Spoke to ref after his 2nd ride but was told to continue. Won his next one but then got caught up in first bend bunching a few times in his next and pulled out.

Ellis and Pickering both rode well. Alfie tried to hard in wrong conditions to overtly. Ben and Zach both so so.

TRack was very wet early on but those who attacked it were fine, those who were tentative struggled.

kus when gating was great as was Robbo. Marty Wethers was very good and picked his way through traffic a couple of times.

Tero, Carl and Ash not a good night with all 3 having bike problems.

Ludvig was in a different class to all others.1.5 seconds quicker than all, smooth all the way and when headed by Josh, picked him off up the inside off bend 4.

Would love to see Josh as a Diamond.

Not to mention pulling wheelies and basically not giving a s*** about scoring points for lakeside or trying to entertain any fans who may have been there from lakeside..... Right I feel better after getting that off my chest.

He was a disgrace mate,, what's the feeling amongst your fans towards him..

A don't think Nick Morris likes the Newcastle track at the best of times, but a least pulling wheelies when beaten entertains the kids ;)

Was good to see 'The Moth' back to his best with effortless style, maybe need more dark nights and tricky tracks are needed, but will be back to no.1 riding like that, if he's not careful.

Maybe Nick didn’t feel safe to race on the track and after spending time with Dan Bewley only 24 hours earlier didn’t want to take any risks. I saw Workington fans saying him and Ellis was out on the track with Dan while waiting for the ambulance so I think calling him a disgrace is a bit harsh personally.
