Please be true...Robson, Pijper, Wilkinson and Kus would be perfect for the Greyhounds...:D

Maybe if they keep riding for long enough there might be a point where they're so old that Redcar can actually overtake them.and not win a wooden spoon for a change?

Interesting to see Tomas H Jonasson looking for uk rides... Presumably for PL though? Or would he stoop down low enough to ride in the Championship? :O Naaah... Bargain on a 6.96 average though (I think, 2017 PL average converted by 1.5) if someone could persuade him... Baby Bjerre, Summers and NBJ would be nice signings too... Different...

THJ comes with a reputation, him not me, as does Baby Bjerre, I doubt George would want their disruptive influence in the pits IMHO.  (but nothing would surprise me) Summers and NBJ will be at Berwick I would guess. You need to look further afield I would suggest for your different riders... Newcastle will look very different this year from previous years and not before time as the place needed a change of face and freshened up. Luna is a good start and last year the promotion pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat with Matty Wethers who I for one had serious doubts about but fair play to Matty he proved me (and many others) wrong. I am sure there will be one or two more surprises on the way. Kasper Lykke maybe as a second string as we have not seen him for a couple of seasons and he was another rider who George used as a guest in times gone by.

Its the big hitter who will be the big surprise I would suggest; and whats the odds on Ricky Wells? As he is another who always goes well at Brough and if Edinburgh do not use him he may be a viable option

Regards
THJ

They certainly wouldn`t persuade him to ride for a Sunday team. He will be riding for Pila in Poland

Yes, that was the same circumstances last year, but as THJ suggests in the previous post, he then proceeded  to mess people around, signing and unsigning and eventually got picked by Redcar. Too fickle to deal with.

Newcastle in a bit of bother regarding team building. With riders riding in Poland.

1. Rene Bach 7.19

2. Ludvig Lindgren 6.47

3. Matthew Wethers 5.78

4. Matej Kus 5.63

5. Nike Lunna 5.63

6. Carl Wilkinson 3.96

7. Max Clegg 3.25

= 37.91

I didn't think Rene was doing the UK next year, isn't his girlfriend due to have a baby which I think has ruled him out or some other commitment?  Might have just made that up but thought I have read it somewhere

I wonder how much of cleanout Newcastle are going to have.  Might be good to freshen the team up, obviously it will take new riders a while to get used to the track but might benefit all.  I think Ludvig for one needs a change of scenery and I would like to see Rose back, not sure if he has finished with speedway.

Looks like Richard Lawson and Ricky Wells are possibly the only what you would call championship number 1s available now. I personally would like to see Wells at Newcastle as he is a track specialist and think he would be a great signing. Although they could both be signed by someone and just haven't been confirmed yet. Fingers crossed.

I just can't see or think of any riders who will be in the team, not saying they're not lined up, it just makes it more exciting to who we have signed when they're announced, the totally unknown is interesting and I have no idea what the outcome of team building will be, fun times ahead... Just wish Rene could be with us :(

Isn't Pila in the second tier? Who ride midweek? I'm not sure...

I was responding to the top post by Leander, who is obviously unaware of the 'news.'

I actually replied to the original post on tuesday morning before it was announced Ritchie had signed for Leicester. for some reason  the post didn't appear until I posted my next post yesterday!!

Victor Palovaara intimated that he was keen to return to the Championship in 2019, after his short stint with Edinburgh.

As far as I can see, he has not been contracted to any Polish club in 2019.

Given he was decent with the Diamonds previously, might be worth a punt again.

Wells gone now. Options very limited on any heat leader's. Most have there team's sorted now I thought we were told we wouldn't have to wait as long as before. Hate this time of year and hoping for a competitive team

I'm sure there'll be someone in George's magic hat... Or that's what we constantly get reassured... It does feel like we're left in silence a lot more than some other clubs, but could be worse, we have speedway and our promotion generally do a good job in the end

I like Pavlova, and would love him to be back (Nike, Pavlova and Aaron, hairiest speedway team in history maybe?) But someone told me a while back he left Newcastle in bad terms, so maybe he wouldn't want to come back?
