No, his mind was made up in the summer when the Wolverhampton rumours first started. I knew he was leaving just felt sure Poole would have trumped any offer. He wasn't happy all season and it affected his performances and subsequently his average, people keep suggesting it was down to the pressure of being #1, anyone that watches the Robins regularly knows how unhappy he was. Fair comments & I stand corrected. Doesn’t sound like he’ll be back anytime soon then especially as he’ll have a great season on a track he is very good on. I spoke with someone in the know the night before Doyle was announced. The words they used re Nick were ‘his head’s been turned’. Whether that meant money I don’t know. His average is very attractive and I am sure if Nick really wanted to, he would have stayed but I am guessing he’s just been offered a much better deal to ride at Monmore. I accept that Monmore’s track is better prepared than Swindon, that’s a given, however, I don’t see Morris, or any rider for that matter, riding somewhere else just because the track is better. There must be a financial inducement. I doubt anybody on this forum would change their job, travel 90 miles up the road for the same money?
