STARS V WOLVERHAMPTON, PREVIEW

Sunday August 12, 2018

KING’S LYNN are targeting a sixth straight success at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday when they host Wolverhampton (7.30).

The Tru Plant Stars have been on an impressive run of late and currently find themselves in the play-off positions.

But Monday’s opponents are hot on their heels and team boss Dale Allitt says his side will again need to demonstrate the belief and approach they’ve shown in recent weeks.

“We’ll need that determined attitude once again because Wolverhampton may still be looking for their first away win of the season, but they’re a real solid, capable outfit as always,” he said.

“They’ve got a number of riders in the likes of Rory Schlein, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth and Ashley Morris who have all had spells with Stars at some point and go well here at The Adrian Flux Arena.

“So this is another key meeting for us and fingers crossed we can add another three league points to the board and send them home empty handed.”

The fanzone will be open once again prior to the meeting where supporters will be able to test their gating skills and reactions on the reaction bike.

There will also be a children’s colouring competition with goodie bags for the first 200 kids through the turnstiles.

KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Erik Riss, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Simon Lambert.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Rory Schlein, Kyle Howarth, Jonas B Andersen, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, James Sarjeant.

Not that it matters but Lambert was in dreadful form this afternoon in Poland, costing his team a shock home defeat. However, tomorrow he may have completely different bikes so probably not much to read into it.

Expecting 52-38ish.

Indeed, nothing at all to do with the fact that the guy at number one scored three points, all Robert's fault.

On a serious note his last three matches have seen pretty low scores compared to his season so far. Obviously testament to how fantastic he has been this year on a consistent basis but also a sign that something isn't quite right with him at the minute. Hopefully it's a machinery issue which can be ironed out and not fatigue or burn out as his work load has been enormous in 2018.

He has had a hell of a workload this year hasn't he.Apparently they have found the problem with his bike concerning King's Lynn anyway:)

We fans at Lynn, know teams come here and will always have a chance of success.   Unlike some places with massive home advantage,  away teams will nearly always score 40 odd points.    No, I'm not complaining, I like the excitement of close competition.  It means our lads have to be on their toes and firing on all cylinders.  Thankfully those days  when we use to score  60 pts  are long gone.  We go to AFA now knowing it will be exciting racing and be very competitive.

But saying that,  Wolves don't travel that well.   They have a solid team,  if not exciting,  where all riders do their bit.    They are not the force they once were and have suffered the consequences of getting rid of  Fast Freddie  and Woffy.    Thorssell and Schlein are solid riders but they don't compare to those superstars.....  Although  most of their team like the wide open spaces that the AFA offers, I see this as a relatively easy victory for the Stars.   I'm going for a 50-40  where all the shouting is over before we come to heat 15...  :t:

The rest I agree but no way is Jorgensen better than Masters head to head.

If This is on then I fully expect carnage.... Lynn will run riot leaving Wolves requiring 'snookers' after heat 11.

Lambert, having a poor time of it goes with the job.   Everyone has an 'off period'..... You only have to look at Former World Champion Chris Holder, the only difference  is his has lasted 3 years.

The sun is out and roads are dry at the moment. Should be no problem as long as it don't chuck it down later.

We need Niels and Lambo to bang in 20 between them. Sounds a breeze but Lambo hasn't been going well ( by this seasons standards)  in his last few meetings and as we know NKI isn't fully fit so 8-9  and 11-12 for Lambo hopefully ,with Riss, Ty, and TJ chipping in another 20 between them. MPT around 7-8 from 5 and a couple from Simon, should see the Stars home and dry.

But... It rarely goes to plan in speedway.

Heats 13 and 15 again to be vital.

Close one. Around 48-42 with Rory top scoring for Wolves.

Absolutely throwing it down in Wisbech at the moment:(plus plenty of thunder.Hopefully it will clear very soon to leave a dry afternoon.

Edit:10 minutes on and still absolutely hissing it down,if Lynn gets this i think you can say goodbye to the speedway tonight, everything is flooded here.
