Sad news indeed. Promoter at Oxford, White City and Eastbourne and was always passionate about the sport.

Remember when 'The Rebels' signed Tony Lomas and Bob took to the track at Cowley to demonstrate the best way of riding the track and promptly broke his ankle!

A great servant and a great loss to the sport.

RIP

Such fond memories of watching Bob race around Wimbledon in my younger days. The pairing of him and Trevor Hedge were so powerful in those days.

His passion for speedway in general, not least his own club Eastbourne, is possibly only equalled by Len Silver.  Both real characters in this great sport of ours.

RIP Bob, and thanks for so many treasured memories.

Bob was riding alongside Olle Nygren when I first went to Plough Lane.A speedway man through and through from one of the great speedway families.Involved in South Coast speedway almost from the very beginning I think

RIP

British speedway could certainly do with a few more Bob Dugard's you have to admire what he achieved at Eastbourne.

Totally agree and we at Oxford and White City also enjoyed his enormous presence. The production line at Arlington was second to none however one mustn't forget the influence of the late Arthur Nutley also.
