Edinburgh vs Scunthorpe SGB Championship, Friday, 3rd August 2018, 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

Teams as per Official Edinburgh website:-

STAGGS BAR MONARCHS: Ricky Wells, Victor Palovaara, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Erik Riss (captain), Max Clegg, Joel Andersson.

HENDERSON'S SCORPIONS: Steve Worrall (captain), rider replacement for Stefan Nielsen, Jason Garrity, Jake Allen, Josh Auty, Danny Phillips, Gino Manzares

This week Monarchs welcome the Management Committee's favourite team as the visitors:P

Joking apart, it's never dull when a pair of thrill makers in Garrity & Auty, appear here.

Add in the battle of the Worrall twins, and we should hopefully have another exciting encounter at the Dale tomorrow.

Visiting Scorpions near full strength

NEWS Thursday 2nd August 2018, 9:00am

by Mike Hunter

This week's Armadale visitors are Scunthorpe whose powerful team has been disrupted by injury for much of the season, but they are virtually at full strength to face the Staggs Bar Monarchs on Friday.

Heat leaders Stevie Worrall and Jason Garrity are in the side along with Josh Auty, Jake Allen and Gino Manzares leaving only long-term injury victim Stefan Nielsen on the sidelines, and he is pretty well covered by rider replacement.

Most Scorpion fans know that our biggest loss has been Stefan Nielsen as the way he started the season, r/r & most guests have not covered his scoring potential.

Anything will be better than last week. Nice to see Scunny almost back to their own 7 riders and they will have their tails up after last night

Can we avoid the sting and put the icing on Ed’s birthday cake..... yeah, I hope so!

After tonight’s result, confidence must be sky high. Let’s hope the reserves can pitch in with 7/8 points between them, could make all the difference.

The difference will be the contrast of Jake Allen from big tracks to tight tracks. Confidence should be high, though, so let us hope we can keep it tight. A point would be a good result for me.

Garrity apparently either broken down/crashed on route not here yet or not coming at all now.

Shame if not.

He has started crashing on the way to meetings now, I knew he was prone to the odd accident well several accidents but doing it on the way is taking it to a whole new level.

I cannot believe it. with all the injury bad luck we have had all year, now we get travel disruptions with Allen last night(although he made it in time) now we have Garrity. Just when we see light at the end of the tunnel.

Jake certainly prefers a larger track but is good enough to get around the tighter ones now,. Sounds like he held his end up tonight for the team on an otherwise difficult night.

Very difficult to go there and score points on a one off visit when home riders are so dialled in even if he used to ride there, one could argue that his score proves how tricky a circuit Armadale is. Even Cook has posted modest scores there in the past as a visitor.

Just like Poole in the top division Edinburgh look to be revitalised  by a couple of changes and seem to be the team to beat now.
