bellevueace
The Colts will do well to overcome the Tigers who are a powerful side this season, im looking forward to watching the likes of Drew Kemp and Jordan Jenkins throw in the likes of Danny Ayers and Josh Bailey and it will be a stern test but with the potential of some good racing. Ben Wilson guests for Jack Smith who is on duty with Swindon.
Gunner85
Toughest test of the year without a doubt. Shame Jack is missing
mikec
Very tough gig for the Colts this one. Looking forward to it as there's some exciting young racers in action. Bright and breezy in Manchester right now, hopefully a decent crowd to enjoy the racing. Prediction 52-38 Fen Tigers.
bellevueace
As expected a Tigers win but the Colts kept it closer than I was expecting, Kemp looks very good, stylish and fast, great to see a good batch of young riders coming through, GB looks to have a bright future. WestGorton1884
Is Danny Ayres still doing wheelies and 'donuts' around a 3/4 empty NSS ?, Talk about over celebrating. Embarrassing Edited August 1, 2018 by WestGorton1884

mikec
Well at least it was closer than I expected. Great to see the Pie-man rattle off those early wins, though he'll be less happy with the 3 subsequent falls. However he's showing improvement, long may it continue. Saw Drew Kemp late last season at BV & was impressed then. But was thrilling to watch his trackcraft in heats 13 & 15, phenomenal for one so young! A future star, absolutely no doubts about that.

Embarrassing The sport needs more entertainers like him not less. Whoever he has rode for has loved seeing him celebrate like he does.Crowd reacts to it,which makes for a better atmosphere. The better the atmosphere, the more he does to celebrate.Hope he continues to do it. Great come back from the lads last night. There's a great spirit amongst them right now. Determined to keep that league record in place

BTW Kemp is class He seemed to spit his dummy out because he believed he was illegally blocked by Ben Wilson , Then threw a right tantrum when he crossed the line, THEN proceeded on yet another two ( unnecessary, IMO ) laps of celebration wheelies ...? Nothing to do with me being a killjoy , BTW well done Fen Tigers, got a really exciting talented line up.... including Ayres Edited August 2, 2018 by WestGorton1884

He was happy the club won.Why not celebrate? Lighten up a bit

He was gutted with himself. The team manager said don't worry. Now go round and aknowledge the travelling away fans and show them your appreciation which he did.
spiegal
That is exactly what happened. It was a superb meeting, well run, well organised, on a great racing track..well done Andy Meredith...no sides gave an inch, but all riders took part in teh right, competitive spirit. Belle Vue has always been a name where it has always been a pleasure to take part. thank you Adrian, Lemo, Andy and everyone for making us welcome and providing all supporters with a fine advert for Speedway JAMES

You must have been standing next to me because that is exactly what was said .... our supporters were superb again last night backing the team. The riders all wanted to thank them for the long journey they had made midweek to back the team, and thats why they came out to celebrate with them after the meeting Really good close meeting and a warm welcome from our hosts ... bellevueace
People complain about speedway not having characters anymore, then when one turns up (Ayers) they then complain about antics. I always enjoy watching Ayers always entertaining and last night was no different, always great to see a rider show passion, and our own Cookie has shown that on more than one occasion.
cityrebel
Too right, punch ups and tantrums were a regular occurrence at speedway when I was a kid. It was like a pantomime when it was a local derby. It would have made great TV!

I apologize if I've got that wrong . I must admit I didn't see that. I thought it was a cracking meeting and a superb advert for NL speedway. The Colts did better than I expected but the Fen Tigers young talent showed through in the end, aided by some furious determination when the chips were down. I'd give a shout to Sam Bebee on that issue. Under huge pressure from Paul Bowen in heat 14 (a rider with far more experience, especially of the NSS) he refused to give in in the battle for a point. In these days of savage self interest within the sport, its brilliant to read the comments made by James Easter and Phil Kirk about the way Mildenhall were treated by Belle Vue.
