Neil Vatcher said on the microphone at Redcar last night that he had asked for two U-21's to be the reserves at Cardiff but was over ruled.

By whom?

He's supposed to be the S.C.B. Head so has the B.S.P.A. mafia got involved again ?

Interesting comment by Neil Vatcher, because the BSPA should be nowhere near the selection. The FIM rules clearly state that it`s the federation- ie ACU - who as far as i`m aware delegate Speedway matters to the SCB.

3.6 Track Reserve Riders In each SGP Meeting, 2 Track Reserve Riders will be nominated by the FMNR to take part. Proposals must be made in writing to the FIM not later than 1 month prior to the meeting. The SGP Commission will make the final approval and nominations. After nomination, the official FIM SGP Entry Form for Wild Card & Track Reserve Riders must be duly completed and signed by the Rider and his FMN. The FMN is responsible for completing and submitting the entry form to the FIM/CCP Administration at least 2 weeks before the meeting for which the Rider has been nominated.

The ACU would ask the SCB who are currently dictated too by the BSPA. This has happened several times over the last few years.

As nice a guy as Mr. Vatcher is , he is a ' yes ' man and has been told what to do on a number of occasions in recent times by the SCB / BSPA liaison officer , a Mr. Godfrey I believe.

Even when the SCB made a decision the same decision was ignored by said mafia and they just did what they pleased.

The ACU gave up on speedway years ago but it's about time they had a serous look at the sport and how its governed.

Who are the bspa and who are the scb? What's the difference

ROLE OF THE SCB

Formed originally in 1948, under the authority of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) the SCB was known as the Speedway Control Board, a title that stood until 2003.

At that time, the RAC, through it’s subsidiary, the Motor Sports Association (MSA) relinquished their involvement and the Auto-Cycle Union, which was formed in 1903 had the sole responsibility in Great Britain for 2-wheeled motor sport.

Subsequently the SCB was re-named as the Speedway Control Bureau and is authorised by the Auto Cycle Union to act as the recognised Governing Body for Speedway racing in Great Britain.

Accordingly, each season  the SCB produces a Rule Book entitled The Speedway Regulations, that covers all the rules applicable to the sport in Great Britain. It is available in booklet form at a small cost from the SCB Office or as a fre download from the SCB Website www.scbgb.co.uk

Financed entirely by fees generated through the issue of Track Licences, Rider Registrations and Officials Licences the SCB seeks to act as the independent body to ensure that the BSPA, Member’s Tracks, Riders and Officials all act within the Rules and Regulations of the SCB and most importantly within the best interest of Speedway motorcycle racing.

The SCB is managed on a day to day basis by the SCB Co-ordinator (Neil Vatcher: neil@scbgb.co.uk) and an Administrator (Nikki Jameison: info@scbgb.co.uk). They are augmented in specialist areas by Track Inspectors (Alan Bridgett: alan@scbgb.co.uk & Mick Bates: mick@scbgb.co.uk) and a Technical Advisor (Jim McMillan: jim@scbgb.co.uk).

Further specialist advice concerning Medical and Environmental matters are obtained via the ACU Committees; Environmental Advisor (Peter Gregory: pgregory@ntlworld.com), Medical Panel Secretary (Debbie Walmsley:  dw@acu.org.uk)

The Bureau consists of 4 nominated Members, two representing the ACU are Tony Steele and Paul Hurry (ACU Members) whilst Rob Godfrey (BSPA Vice-Chairman) and Chris van Straaten (BSPA Promoter) represent the British Speedway Promoters Association under the independent Chairmanship of Jim Lawrence (a former speedway Referee).

The BSPA is an association of the active Club Promoters

Anybody know an alternative to the the Park and Ride at Cardiff City Stadium as assume this  will be unavailable this year as Cardiff City are playing at home on the day of the GP.

SGP Cardiff website has no information whatsoever about event parking this year which is oh so helpful.

Previously you could book parking at Sophia Gardens or the town hall but as you say there is no info about parking at the moment on the sgp website.
