If they have any thoughts of making the playoffs a win tomorrow is a must for them. Not quite so for Pirates who should win at Leicester next monday and Swindon in the b fixture. It's a very tight one Steve, and there's a bit at stake, so if I was the gaffer i'd have them in. That's all
waytogo28
Buster needs at least 12 hours for the track prep. It's not done in half an hour at KL you know ( except once or twice during the match ). he often tells us that he has not even had time for a break since dawn, so unless he does where can they fit in a practice? As for this what is it called, " win at all costs", this is Norfolk and we are very laid back about winning. And do you have anything to counter The Stars secret weapon - The Stars Anthem? Sung twice before tapes up and once in the interval, that's the Pirates scuppered. Edited July 22, 2018 by waytogo28

g13webb
This match is far more important to Lynn than Poole, after all, if we are to have any chance to be in them PO's we have to win our home meetings. Poole will come and try to gain unexpected reward, but for the home team its essential that we will get them 3 points. Failing to do that will diminish the achievements of our winning at places like Leicester and Belle Vue and the fine results we have attained on our travels We have already suffered an unexpected home defeat against Somerset, appreciate we were understrength, so any other result than a convincing win, will be massive to those other teams chasing a top 4 finish. This is the first of a series of meetings in quick succession, where the Stars can really lay down the gauntlet and show the other teams our intent . The outcome is in our own hands. With this level of even competition, never has the P/O been more important. Once there, any of the four teams could achieve success.

Remember that defeat, didn't that come straight after our great win at Belle Vue.Hope things don't repeat themselves. edit:That defeat was our first home meeting after the Belle Vue win but it was 9 days later. Well really looking forward to this my 1st home meeting in just about 8 weeks. Not including the Leicester one obviously. Two pretty well balanced sides i think although Poole are a lot stronger at reserve.Hopefully S.Lambert will be replaced at some point,no disrespect to Simon but he's not cut out for the top League. Hopefully one big league next year so we can have a fixture every week Edited July 23, 2018 by tellboy
Steve Shovlar
With Pirates strength in depth we are vunerable in 13 and 15 against Iversen and Lambert. A point would be very good. Anything else a bonus. Saw that Lambert has only been beaten twice at home all season. Big achievement.

Re Lambert,we have only had 4 matches at home,5 if you include Rye House.Although it is a pretty impressive start to his season at home. Daniel Smith
I don't think just the win is important, the chase for the top 4 is so tight it's vitally important to stop the Pirates taking a point. Every home meetings from now on has to be a win and a win by 7 points or more. Edited July 23, 2018 by Daniel Smith
SteveLyric2
This'll be Poole's 9th away meeting out of the 15 ridden so like KL they've got a few more home meetings to come. If the Pirates can continue to get something from the away meetings and start to stamp their authority at home then the play-offs are a realistic target. Bagpuss
An awful lot of inconsistency in the Lynn scorechart tonight.
Steve Shovlar
Heat 13 and 15 are our nemisis. Same tonight. Needed 8 point lead into heat 13 and only had 4.
Bagpuss
Well if you're only going to lead once then the last heat is the time to do it. Kurtz going AWOL at the business end of the meeting must be a frustration for Poole fans.

Yeah but look at it in terms of the play offs. You aren't getting spanked away anymore and surely that team will go unbeaten at home now. Be hard to beat over 2 legs I reckon. Steve Shovlar
Was happy with a point before and said we needed an 8 point lead before heat 13. No big guns just a solid team. Trouble is when we come up against big hitters. A win on Wednesday will possibly stick us in the playoff places so not all bad. We are picking up lots of bonus points away from home and are far stronger now at home. It’s looking good. But when your up against Iversen and Lambert its no push over. 3 points needed on weds..

Pirates Of Poole
Good point but again like some many times this season, we work so hard and lead the whole meeting and throw it away at the end. So frustrating, still think we are 1 rider short of the winning formula.
