From Birmingham twitter feed.

Buxton objected to the use of Gary Flint at reserve and despite having the relevant paperwork and confirmation from the BSPA office, he has now been blocked from riding this afternoon.
We will be looking into this matter further.
Sheldon Davies steps in.

Was this a decision made by the "on call" MC member who has no idea what he is ruling on?

Hopefully if they turn up with only 5 riders they will be fined and thrown out of the league.

Some might say Buxton should be thrown out of the league for fielding such a week side. (Some might say it but not me. Just highlighting how ridiculous your original post was.)

Up yours Buxton. Can't even win at dirty tricks.

I'm confused.

Surely there's only Birmingham who have been up to dirty tricks, by trying to field an ineligible rider?

It's all well and good saying Gary Flint had obtained the relevant paperwork, as confirmed by the BSPA,  but Buxton could point out that Craig Cook has all the relevant licences and paperwork, and the BSPA would confirm that too.... It still wouldn't make him eligible to come back and ride as a 3.00 guest in the NL.

What makes a rider who's been registered and approved by the BSPA suddenly inelligible?  Where's the dirty trick in that?

I was told by a Cradley fan when the Brummies dropped down to the NL to watch out for Buxton's shenanigans. It seems to be their modus operandi, whoever the opposition is.

Anyway, a huge away win, all 15 race winners and all the points in the bag. Karma.

Ater Craig Cook's recent performances in Poland, a refersher and confidence building session in the NL may be what he needs. Buxton might possibly have got a heat winner if he'd been riding for them.

Big fuss over very little as Birmingham were always going to be far to strong for Buxton with or without Gary Flint.

Spot on.   They should have been looking to give track time to an upcoming teenager who needs it, not trying to fiddle an ineligible experienced journeyman back in from a bygone era, in the hope of adding even more points to an already easy win.

But as Birmingham said in their press release, they had contacted a lot of young riders who were all unavailable to ride so Gary joked about stepping in and then decided to actually do so as it would be a fantastic experience for him to ride with his son in the same team.

And buxton shouldve prepared a smooth and fair racetrack for up and coming riders to race on ????

Todays antics backfired big time !

C'mon you BRUMMIES!

I had a quick chat with William O'Keefe after the meeting. Nice lad, he said he twisted his knee in a fall, I think avoiding a rider falling in front of him. He was prepared to go out for his last ride but it was decided it would be better if Sheldon rode instead, as he didn't want to potentially aggravate it more. Hope he has a good rest of the season, when he gets the chance.

On Sheldon, only seen him very briefly in the Bulls vs Belle Vue meetings before. To win your first race in the NL must have been a great thrill. He looked a lot smoother than a lot of the riders on a difficult track, especially the 1st and 2nd bends.

The referee kindly explained the situation about Gary Flint. Buxton did complain but the decision was made by the BSPA (I think he said Neil Vatcher but with the raceway in the back ground and the track grading going on, it was difficult hear). One thing he couldn't explain was his decision to put all 4 riders back in the first race, when Ben Wilson fell on his own on bend 2, with no one remotely near him.

Hopefully we can secure the win against Cradley to get to the final.
