Championship 4's Redcar July 1st

Wonder what format they will devise this year with 11 teams in the League. We all know the carnage that happened last season, when in a matter of a week Berwick & Scunthorpe were booted out then reinstated. Hopefully it will be announced soon so people can make plans.

As with many BSPA events there will be carnage some where along the line.

Speaking to Redcar fans on Saturday night looks like there is going to be facilities available for fans to view from the back straight.

More details on arrangements are going to be revealed on Thursday night at the Social evening being held at Redcar apparently.

Be interesting to see if they are intending to open up the back straight for spectators as the layout makes this not easy due to the banking and the access road for Emergency vehicles.

Dont see how this or the Pairs is workable if all 11 teams are in them

How about

Last years winner or Redcar direct to the final. This gives 2 groups of 5.

Winners of the group to the final, both 2nd teams have a race off or the highest scoring team goes through, giving 4 teams in the final.

Really think this should have been at Belle Vue, that would be some meeting there with the fantastic facilties they have and the racing that takes place on that track... no home advantage to any team either... Bloody hell we will have to camp out there to be able to get in and get a seat, lets hope there is another bar set up its a tight squeeze on a normal meeting there , can't see this being anything than a flop to be honest

There's nowt like being positive....and you're nowt like being positive!

Of course Redcar can't match Bell Vue for facilities but at least give the venue a chance, you never know, you might actually enjoy the day ;)

Just as a footnote - you can pre-book a seat in the stand for £3 ...oh , and we'll be missing 2 heat leaders so doubt we'll progress that far but I'm happy to go along and watch some, hopefully, great speedway

Who cares, it's a Mickey Mouse event anyway?

There will be additional standing on the back straight apparently (not sure how this will work given the access road) but it was announced at the Supporters meeting last week.

I'm sure there will be other additional facilities for spectators  - whilst I agree it should have been at Belle Vue the Redcar promotion should at least be given the benefit of the doubt (and some credit) for their willingness to stage this meeting.

Certainly won't be much home track advanatge - most teams seem to contain either an ex Bear or a track specialist.

Let us hope it is a good day.

I'm not knocking Redcar personally at all, my second favourite northern team :t:but for a meeting of this size , I don't think its the right place to hold such an event, we missing 2 Heat leaders too so no doubt the Tigers (scottish) will think they have this sealed ;)
