Redcar v Lakeside 24th may

Recommended Posts

I'm normally one to be positive but struggling tonight. Stewart, MBA and Barker aside I dont think anyone could complain if they lost their job. A meeting of two halves - Bears still very much up to heat eight but a pretty pathetic end to the meeting.

I don't want to take too much credit away from Lakeside - Morris and Lawson were as expected but both Ellis and Zak were excellent. Far too easy for them though.

Plenty of rumours about changes floating round the track - although I'm not sure who is around to come in. Would love a Jorgensen type to come in.

Lastly, best wishes to Ben. Was a very nasty looking fall, and if he has got away with just a wrist injury as has been reported then very lucky indeed.

10-2 up after two heats and still lose by nearly 20 points, four heat wins at home - another shocking performance.

How long can Kus get away with his shambolic efforts?...and Barker may be trying but our number one has now one TWO races in our last four home matches, again just not good enough. The Anderson bros, Busch and Stewart are the backbone of a really good team, but the shambles around them is not helping in any way.

This team is not even competitive at the moment, we have a great promotion but they have to act before people stop going - you can't have a home team barely winning races...

Didnā€™t go tonight so canā€™t comment on tonightā€™s performances but IĀ canā€™t see how , based on their performances this year, Busch and JBA are the backbone of a really good team. Both have been inconsistent at best. JBA seems to have gone backwards imo.

Always thought we would struggle away but itā€™s not acceptable to capitulate so often at home. A team with so many under performing riders on a home track that holds no fear for any opposing rider is a recipe for a very difficult season.

Backbone - as in those four would be the reserves and two second stringers....we are just missing 3 heat-leaders...JBA is being asked to take on a role he shouldn't be...

Have to admit - I tend to agree. Busch has had 1 good meeting so far, but has been riding lawnmowers ever since. I do like JBA, and don't think he should be in the third heatleader spot but he has not had a great start either. Its a tough spot, as I dont think many could complain with being replaced but I'm not sure who is out there to come in who is in our budget.

To be beat by 16 points after being up by 8 is absolutely woeful changes have to be made kus and jba are not heatleaders and have to be replacedĀ  pipjer has been a poor signing and how many times has busch had bike problems he had them last year keep barker and the 2 reserves, surely the promotion knew that this teamĀ  was poor after a great season last year , brian havelock got a lot of stick but this team is heading for the same place bottom

JBA was dire tonight and on this seasons performances has Definately gone backwards. Heard he wanted a move away from Redcar during the winter and maybe it is showing.

If he wanted away why has he returned and brought his brother as well? Redcar insults it's fans with this team and it insults them with the ridiculous statements it's team manager makes before and after meetings.

A great result for the Hammers in the circumstances. Best wishes for a rapid recovery to Ben Morley. He's had a very solid start to the season and it would be a real shame for that to be disrupted due to this injury.

Going 10 - 2 up and then losing like that at home isn't good enough. I'd be very concerned if I were a Bears supporter.

How did or rather where did Ben hurt himself and is there any news on him? Hope he can get well soon, he has been a very good team player for us so far despite the tricky number two spot.

Jonas Andersen lost control of his bike and turned right on Ben. These things happen but certain riders seem to be gaining a reputation for them.

Possibly because nobody came in for him and Redcar was the only option if he wanted a UK team spot!

JBA is a decent second stringer...

You take many second stringers in this league and make them rideĀ at 3, results would be the same...

Barker and Kus are the problems here - the two heat-leaders in the team, both woeful. Simple.

To be fair to JBA his bike picked up and lifted , the consequence being that he veered right, to say that he turned right is misleading. IMO it was a racing incident and purely accidental.

Certain riders, by inference, obviously means JBA, and I don't think it should be levelled at him on this occasion

Well I did say that he lost control, which infers that his going in the right direction wasn't deliberate. There have been other incidents and several riders last season were unhappy about certain events, it might just be that he's riding beyond his ability.Ā

We have plenty of riders not riding to their ability! At times it was embarrassing to watch. I reckon most of the crowd knew that after Kus had made the gate in his first ride he wasn't going to do anything for the rest of the night. I've never seen a rider look downĀ at his bike so much during a race, mind you, he has plenty of time given he's normally in 4th place

It's very difficult for the management, I think last year's team gave everyone a boost but if it isn't financially viable to sign heatleaders, they have to make the best of what they can get. It would probably be better for both teams if Kus was elsewhere.
