Oh dear!

I've not checked personally but according to a Belle Vue fans Facebook page only 300 advanced tickets have been sold for tonight's meeting, I've never seen less than that (when I've looked) even for a Colts meeting!

There have been some remarkably gormless decisions since chapman has been chairman but the predictable disaster of Monday night speedway could be the one that actually closes tracks down.

Hasn't Belle Vue always run on a Monday in recent years and isn't Monday night speedway done for tv.

Just looked on the website to see if there was a £10 offer. 22 quid to get in for a televised match? I think that might be the reason.

£18 actually, no BT offer this year. Personally I think they should have given vouchers out though at last weeks BH meeting for £10 this week.

Apart from BH Monday, other Mondays crowds have been 400-500 down on last season, that’s a hell of a lot. The racing is still as good on excellent track with good facilities, decent team lineup similar to last few seasons, the main reason is change from Friday to Monday which could get worst with TV fixtures on Mondays starting now.

Hopefully school holidays will make a difference soon.

Belle Vue ran on Monday at the dog track but that was not by choice but because of their landlords. They wanted to race on Friday and changed to that day as soon as they moved to the NSS. As Rob has said crowds have been down significantly this year and the only difference is the race night.

The lack of TV money makes it difficult to take the risk of £10 entry for TV meetings.

That is a hell of a drop in numbers and income for the club, not good.

Yes and at supporters meeting before the season the owners said they were losing lot of money last year and needed more people coming and this year it’s even worst.

When the track was built it was mentioned that it would be available for lots of training etc, is any training of youngsters taking place that would bring in a bit of income on non race days.

Am also surprised that there does not seem to have been any GB training camps, firstly for the main GB riders and especially for the next group of GB riders coming through.  Also a couple of Test matches would help with income.

Twenty-two for the main stand. I would have thought they would at least try to fill the seats by having the same price.

It's been shown many times that people turn up for tv meetings if there is some sort of offer on. If there isn't they tend to stay away.

Is the price set by the staging track or the BSPA? There still seems to be some confusion. And do we know for certain what the BT match fee is?

Last year it was compulsory £10 set by BSPA/BT, that’s not happening this year although nothing to stop clubs trying it.

It does help bring in bigger crowds for TV meetings but long term not sure about then benefit. Lakeside famously did free entry few years ago and got huge crowd then the following week it was back to normal.

Its all about getting people coming back each week, since Belle Vue moved to NSS and mainly Friday nights the crowds have gradually increased over the last 2 years, but this year they have dropped right back down again with change of race night.

Yes, you get more people but do you get enough to make a profit or at least to keep your losses at the same level as a smaller crowd paying full price. Belle Vue obviously know how many they got at £10 for the TV meetings last year and have decided it isn't worth the risk. I'm sure they would have done if the figures supported charging £10.

The interesting thing about the higher price for the grandstand is that usually there are more people in there than there are in the cheaper south stand.
