Cue Ball
Fair play to Peterborough, a deserved draw. Don’t think Scotty has ever ridden Owlerton that well before. Losing Howarth / Howarth not riding to his normal standard had a big impact and not helped by Graversen’s non-impact on the meeting. Not the best meeting, racing wasn’t great - track seemed very dry and slick by the end.
scoobydoo
If Lambert had ridden to his average the Panthers could of won but a draw is a good result

I’m probably being very harsh saying it to be honest with how disappointing it was... win, lose, draw as a team. On to the next one eh? spin king
Not been tonight due ill health so cannot make a proper assessment on the teams performance, but from what I can gleam from the updates page from my texter mate I don't think it helped Kyle coming into a meeting obviously not fit and having to put out after two injury hit rides. That puts the pressure on the other two heatleaders when they have to take consecutive rides, which takes it out on both man and machine. The rider replacement was not working and unfortunately the rider brought in to cover that role failed miserably, but of the riders that were possibly available Gravensen was the best option available. But highlights one thing for me we miss Josh Bates and we need to get him back into the fold as soon as possible. I think you can really blame James Shanes, the guy has improved with every meeting and is a shining light in the team, he along with Wright and Bjerre were taking on extra rides and kept the team in the meeting along with Todd Kurtz. The Panthers looked s though they took advantage of our shortcomings, but not fully because if I was a Panthers I would have been disappointed that this was not a win rather than a draw, but congratulations in coming away with some from Sheffield not many teams have been able to say over recent seasons. But I will say it again the sooner we get Josh Bates back the better.
yorkshiretyke
First and foremost; well done Panthers on the draw, if it wasn’t for some very determined riding from Charles Wright; could easily have won this match. Without being disrespectful to the Panthers I think if the visiting team had been Scunthorpe tonight we would have got our asses handed too us. Tigers were toiling tonight for the first time at home in a long time. I do believe this was a one off. Even if we had carried on with R/R tonight I think we would have had 50+. Add to that Howarth clearly not at the races tonight. Not too concerned but sooner Bates returns the better. Still a top 4 team with a fully fit team but may have to play catch up this year. Flappy
Good result boys well done. Slightly disappointed with Lambert as he needs to be scoring his average at the very least
wealdstone
Most Panthers fans would have taken this result. Lambert is Lambert a good reserve who is capable of beating the best on his day but also likely to make you wonder why he bothered to turn up on occasions
graz gp
Just a bit too much for the Tigers tonight. We only had four riders tonight, so a draw was a good result. Howarth should not have ridden, looked like he was in trouble in is first ride. I don't know what people thought Graversen was going to do, in the main body of the team in is first meeting was always a big ask. Smith struggled and Shanes was the rider of the night for me. He kept us in it. Wright and Bjerre back to back rides just to much to ask. The Tigers with a full team would have won that meeting hands down. UTT. Tonga
Just got to wish JB a speedy recovery, I suffered a similar injury in the ISDE which finished me. Leigh Lanham suffered from the same injury at Edinburgh riding for sheffield and it needs time to heal. always loved watching JB but hope he takes the doctors advice when to come back!!!! And not when he wants to come back. howarth has lost this tonight with saying he is fit to ride which clearly he’s not. Well done to the rest of the team!!!!! Well done to the rest of the team!!!!! have to agree.seemed strange that he pulled out of newcastle meeting then rode the following night.should have declared himself unfit following the redcar meeting then perhaps we could have used a guest, all told thought fine result under the circumstances but do fear the worst for tomorrow at glasgow.well done otherwise tigers. Charlieboy
Well deserved draw for Peterborough taking advantage of our shortcomings.our promotion have got most things right since they took over but I think the bates problem should have been sorted at the beginning of the season. They expected 3 new riders to cover r/r ,not ideal, that gave them added pressure.now we've brought Jan back and he looked way off the pace understandably if he's hardly rode. Then we've got kyles injury. As we have got access to the Leicester track why not get Kyle and Jan having a spin in the week .I think as captain Kyle should have accepted he wasn't fit and we could have had a guest. Now we've dropped points at home we need an extra away win which won't be easy.Well done to Charles ,lasse,James and Todd for keeping us in the meeting.I fear the worst tonight as Glasgow with guest riders at a minimum. Barrow Boy 2
I would like to thank Charles Wright for his efforts last night. When he was on the track the races were entertaining otherwise the races were often too strung out and only the closeness of the score throughout kept me interested.
4thbender
Amazing how quickly the cracks can begin to show in a team which everyone fancied to repeat the success of last season. The Bates situation is a worry. Recovery from nerve damage is the hardest to predict and I suspect that the management's silence on the issue betrays the fact that his return could still be a long way off. Even when (if) he does return, who's to say what form he will be in? Jan Graversen did a great job for us at reserve last season and we have to applaud him for that, but the Bates we all know and love is a precocious talent. Jan might be many things but he's certainly not that. In hindsight it would have been better if the management had cut their losses with JB after his accident and signed a permanent replacement of the "precocious talent" type. As things stand today, available riders that answer that description are thin on the ground to say the least but, with the best will in the world, unless JB and his medics can give a firm date on which he will be fit and back on a bike, Uncle Damien's best option is to start a search for a permanent replacement. If and when the prodigal nephew can demonstrate fitness and form, the door could always be left open for a return (maybe next season). The team has suddenly taken on the appearance of fragility - it's gone from hero to zero almost overnight. Just shows how unpredictable this wonderful sport can be. Fair play to the lads last night, they rode their hearts out against a team that's taken on fresh wind. But clearly there are holes beginning to appear in the Champions' armour and these need to be dealt with tout de suite.
