I thought anyone with with an iota of sense could see the difference. We get all 14 riders doing practice laps and starts after the parade, they are stagered and there has never been a problem. but they dont hammer round the bends. unless there is only 2-3 left out. Daniel Smith
1 hour ago, lisa-colette said: people could actually talk about what I said instead of implying other things. Would be nice. The difference: After a standard parade rider's trundle round and more than not use this time to do standing starts, checking out clutches, timing and sprockets etc. With these 'hot laps' it's rolling starts with 1 out lap and 2 full throttle laps. No standing starts allowed or like Craig Cook, you get excluded by red flag. It's all about pure speed, gives no advantage to the meeting set-up as Belle Vue found out. kelvinht
The hot laps should feed into the meeting in someway. Either the team with the rider with fastest lap gets to chose gate positions, replacing coin toss. Or you compare each rider with their opposite number, team that won most get a 1 or 2 point head start in meeting - it's a bit more radical, but more meaningful - would need rules around r/r in teams

Include it in the meeting in any way and as your last comment suggests you just bring in more and more complicated rules.

And then I have to reply cos they imply things I haven't said, but hey ho never mind. They do this at Poole and I'll miss it anyway as don't get there til 7.15-7.30. Good lord. If I hadn't already seen your name above the post, anyone would be forgiven that post was made by Starman. As already said, time to stop digging your already pretty big hole! Star Lady
I'm here sweetie Still a few puddles around in town centre, blue skies with lots of white/light grey fluffy stuff and a slightly less than brisk breeze. Don't think it rained much overnight but it hammered down most of yesterday. Edited April 25, 2018 by Star Lady

Daniel Smith
With the weather forecast I'm not handing over money. The forecast varies greatly from sprinkling showers to thunders storms depending where you look.

Problem with these showers they are either hit or miss. You can see why Buster wants to keep it on as it's not a forecast where it's continual rain.Well not the forecasts i have been looking at. poole keith
think starman and lisa have to understand the difference between rider parade, practice laps and a hot lap,did either of you ever go to the Ace of Aces? after all the rider presentation before the first race the top six names came out for one flying lap for a prize, think it was called the backaurene!!or something
waytogo28
Even if it is on, I have little eagerness to watch a match where there is little prospect of racing as opposed to riding.
Bunce
This is an excellent rainfall radar, updated every 5 minutes, for those wanting to keep an eye on the showers. Hopefully there won't be any. If you hit the "anim on" tab at the top, you can see which way they are travelling. https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar Edited April 25, 2018 by Bunce additional info
