RobMcCaffery
Former Sky Sports pit interviewer and Sky Sports News presenter Charlie Webster has just appeared on BBC News' Victoria Derbyshire programme in her new role as a campaigner to fight malaria. She had a serious, life-threatening attack while on a charity bike ride to the Rio Olympics in 2016. I thought some might be interested in what happened to her. Sad to hear she was so close to death.
ch958
don't wish her ill but waiting for her to backtrack on her Ched Evans hysteria now that he's been cleared.
RobMcCaffery
Not the place or time for past grudges. The girl was close to death for quite some time. I think she has gone through enough.

ch958
I'll say no more other than none of the parties came out of the event with credit.

iris123
Yes of course we have had umpteen threads about a Dirk Bogarde film that features speedway.I guess you can't really expect people who push a door when it say's 'pull' on it,to follow guidelines. But Rob is a superior sort of speedway fan,so he tells us
Steve Shovlar
Charlie Webster, along with that althlete Jessica Ennis-Hill both went out of their way to publicly abuse Ched Evans. Whilst they might have had the right when he was banged up in prison, humility in apologising once it had been found that he was innocent would have been the correct step to take. Neither Webster or Hill have found it in themselves to do the right thing. Got no time for either of them. I will also say if she’s got malaria it’s her own fault. Wouldn’t wish it on her but really, if you are heading to a country where there’s a chance of contracting malaria, you take a course of medication before leaving the UK. Jessica Ennis-Hill didn't - she was forced into it by various media because SUFC had named a stand after her after her 2012 Olympic triumph. In my opinion this was a bandwagon jumping exercise as she has never claimed to be a football fan, what else was she meant to say with the hysteria surrounding this issue at the time?? Yet she seems to be carrying the can for everyone who had an opinion about the issue. Charlie Webster did go out of her way to have her say. But I still find some of the comments and sniping at other posters on here a bit pathetic. Some fans may be interested to know how she is now. Quite agree that there is some pathetic statement on here from folks who should know better. Many like me, still think he was hardly innocent, but a powerfull expensive lawyer employed by his then girlfriend and now wife's father, managed to get the decision they were after. Money still talks eh.
