214 = Mitch Shirra

218 = Billy Sanders?

214. Interesting guess HG. I can see why you think it's Mitch Shirra - style not dissimilar to his. I actually have no idea who this is :oops:

218. Indeed; the legendary Mr Sanders

Thanks HG!

Its the helmet that does it for me, I seem to recall a similar odd shaped chin guard on his helmet :oops: around this time.

How sad am I :rolleyes:

207 - could that possibly be Erik Gundersen?

219 - Wiggy

220 - Bo Petersen

221 - Mike Lee

222 - Chris Morton

223 - Shawn Moran

224 - Shawn leads Kelly

225 - Nielsen leads Sigalos

226 - Eric Monaghan

BTW - I do find it a little spooky that lots of your pics are from the 84 Overseas and the 83 World Final. Both meetings I was at too. Where were you stood in Norden? I was on the back straight. I was only 9, but remember it all quite clearly.

We went there on a Chequers Travel Coach, had a night in Amsterdam and a another night somewhere in Germany. I also remember meeting National League supporters for the first time (Milton Keynes) and couldn't understand why they didn't go to watch someone good like Belle Vue. Funny how things turn round (see racejacket :wink: ) Lovely memories though.... :D

I was on that trip with my mum and dad!! Small world, can remember stopping at at little town and it was belting it down, think it was the day before the World Final and then stopping at a hotel in Vlissingen?? I think!!

We stood on the exit of turn 2 and even managed to get on the World of Sport when it showed the meeting

Spooky - don't suppose you remember visiting a cheese making place on the trip too? That's one of my faint memories anyway, Jez. I too was only ickle and was with mum and dad. B)

207........with a British flag on the helmet ??. No this pic is of a true Owlerton icon..................and I don't mean Klaus Lohmann or Heinrich Sprenger :D

219-221. Yes

222. No. It's the King of Kings :D

223-226. Yes

In Norden I was stood just past the second bend going into the straight. Funny, I don't remember seeing you there :D . Ah the memories. I was half expecting a Siggy win but Mr Muller was in a different world that day (or should that be on a different bike). Can't remember too much about the travel but Chequers travel sounds mighty familiar. I do remember we got a coach at the Owlerton car park, which I recall was picking us up en-route (maybe it had been to BV/The Shay before?).

I couldn't remember which year the overseas final pics were from but you've solved that little mystery for me.

Thanks falcace!

230. Yes I think it is

231. Yes/Yes/Yes

232. I've been trying to test you all along by finding that one picture that's just too hard but haven't managed it yet!!. I think said gentleman is second from left..............but I could be wrong. The only rider I'm able to positively identify here is the rider sat on the bike. I need some help from Owlerton devotees to jog the memory a little.

234. That's a top shout falcace. I actually (wrongly I now think) thought this was Paul Stead but having done a 'compare and contrast' with #232 I think you're right!

Thanks falcace!

I have been thinking about 230 over a glass or two of wine (aussie of course!) did Troy B not wear black leathers & was sponsored by Billabong (excellent T-shirts by the way :D )

If so how can this be? also he had brown hair, the man in 230 has blonde, very scandanavian............................are you sure its not Lars Munkendal, me & my bobble still think it is :(

Of course it could be a sly one of Tony Forward :D
