Woz01
Eastbourne will give Coventry a much sterner test than Stoke did last week. I believe Danny Phillips is riding for Scunthorpe so a guest needed. I expect the crowd to be bigger, forecast much better than what we had to deal with last week. Thoughts. A lot depends on whether Edwards takes to the track.
solrac
Good result for the Eagles tonight at Plymouth. Took them a while to get going on an initially tricky track, the Devils were arguably unlucky to walk away with nothing. Kelsey couldn't take his first two rides due to a bike problem then had to take both his next rides from 15m! Should be a good meeting on Sunday, tough to call. Hunters
With last night and tonight to shake the cob webs out of the system I feel an Eagles win is most likely. Question is whether they can get all four points. Hope I have not put a jinx on them, which I have been known to do.
Woz01
Yep it'll be tough for the Bees but with a bit of rain around that may help Coventry as they rode in the wet at Leicester last week.
gee jay
even with the great start to the season for the eagles , not sure that counting up possible points isn't a bit premature . the bees haven't started badly themselves with a convincing home win and 2 decent showings at 2 of the leagues big guns . think this is going to be a good one and could go either way really. weather going to do it's best to spoil it though. Gemini
Only cloudy so far no rain. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Woz01
Couldn't make today as I had to work, great win for the Bees. Was the crowd similar to last week?
Gemini
I'd guess a little bit less. Well you and Tina Widman weren't able to be there for a start. Another dodgy weather forecast didn't help and although it didn't rain during the early heats it did later on. Great win for the Bees though and perhaps one Sunday we will be able to sit in the sunshine.
Islander15
Why didn’t Edwards take Brooks or Dugard’s final ride?

That's a shame considering the Eagles have to be one of the more attractive opponents in NL. 300-350 is break even. I guess the Cradley meeting in a couple of weeks will bump up the average attendance. A decent weather forecast will help, I woke up this morning and seen the forecast. I thought it had no chance of being on at that point. Edited April 15, 2018 by Woz01

I think Mick said he needed 350 to break even and I wouldn't say they are a long way short of that, although there weren't so many there this week. The problem has been the dodgy weather forecasts, bearing in mind the majority of fans will have to travel. It rained last Sunday all the way through the match and rain was forecast again today, which happened half way through. I am sure that once the weather gets better the crowd will increase. 1 hour ago, Islander15 said: Why didn’t Edwards take Brooks or Dugard’s final ride? Good question! Seems strange, although he did actually take Dugards ride in heat 11 (according to my programme anyway but perhaps I'm wrong) and came last so perhaps that's why he wasn't used for Brooks in heat 12. ruckerroo
Well done cov. Eastie arent a patch on yrs gone by, the no2 position is occupied by a reserve and the top end strength is ok but no better than many other sides
full-throttle
a good result against a much fancied Eagles side who have had two wins to start their campaign. impressive scoring from both mountain and armstrong which bodes well for the season
W9 Lion
I suspect only obout 175 max so I think only about half of what would be needed to break even. And from where I was stood there was 20 or so Plymouth fans swelling the crowd.

Although i didnt go today I was told more people was on the bend and less in the seats. Edited April 15, 2018 by Woz01
cityrebel
It's a shame, but the majority of fans don't travel in dodgy weather anymore, and who can blame them.
