Steve Shovlar
So he had a good score against a mediocre looking Swindon team. One swallow doesn’t make a summer. James Shanes scored a 15 max against Wolves at the start of last year. Riders do have good meetings. But over the years we know Worrall has been around enough to be a decent second string/third heat leader. That’s his level in the sport. It’s a good level. Most riders won’t achieve that in the sport. But to suddenly believe he is going to be a big star and score double figures every week is nonesense. Fricke’s going to be number one for Belle Vue this year and is a different class to anyone else in the team. stevebrum
Stevie has aimed big in the close season and so far has looked to have stepped up a level. What he may or may not achieve is very open to question. I wish him well in his recovery, certainly the National side will miss him as let's face it besides Woffy, Cook and Worrall there isn't anyone else considering for the SON particularly at the NSS. Lambert as the U21 a given.

At least ten meetings needed to show a true average. A meaningless 90th anniversary meeting where riders are testing etc and one home meeting against Swindon are not a true reflection of a riders average. If Kurtz was missing from your next home meeting and someone said " RR will get you 8.08 points " What would to say in reply Quote Edit Options

We all get that you think you're one of the best around the NSS, the trouble is that no one agrees with you. Least of all, the Belle Vue regular fans who have already replied. Do we have to keep telling you that your deluded opinion is wrong?

Fricke’s going to be number one for Belle Vue this year and is a different class to anyone else in the team. Since 2014 Worrall has progressed from being a National League rider, through the fast track reserve system to his present position where he has the second highest average in the CL, only Nicholls, on an assessed average, is above him and the third highest average in the Belle Vue team. There is nothing in that history to indicate that he has achieved his level and that he will not progress further. Those who have actually watched him at the NSS this year have seen performances which showed that he has made a further step up the ladder and that is why we shall be weaker without him on Monday. It also shows the paucity of an argument when those making it feel the need to exaggerate what has been said. Nobody has claimed that that he is going to be a big star or, that he is going to score double figures every week. What we are talking about is his immediate form and a meeting on Monday, not what might or might not be the situation in months to come. Time will tell how far he progresses but there is no doubt in my mind that we have not yet by any means seen the end of his development.

Going back to Steve it looks hopeful that he could get back earlier than anticipated i really hope so his fitness levels are so high and with lots of treatment in the Oxygen chamber could the British Final be to soon.?

Steve Shovlar
With the forecast good we are looking forward to coming up for this. Nice when it’s an 9 hour round trip to know it’s not going to be a wasted journey or have the stress of dodgy weather. Lets hope there’s a good crowd there tomorrow night. Should be a cracking meeting.

Already said what I think of Steve Worrall. Seems a nice guy. A third heat leader. Has a 6.6 average. Not as good as Lambert ability wise. Won’t get to where Harris, Nicholls, Cook or King reached. ouch
This will be tougher for us than the away match as the poles will fair better and PK can now race all out. The poles are reigned in at Poole as they are aware of the reaction of their polish clubs should they get injured plus losing the big bucks from over there. PK has been around long enough now to be one of those guys that feel if a track is poor, his effort will reflect that. The continuing, well documented problems with the Poole track will never allow these guys to shine. Also Shanes will struggle due to the gate and go nature of his home circuit. Removing these restrictions and giving these guys a track to RACE on will provide tricky yet entertaining opposition for us. Looking forward to it wether we win or not and it will act as a fine antidote to the heartbreakingly awful dish served up at Wimborne Rd last week. ouch
Wow. So you think Wednesday’s Wimborne Rd track is better suited to the poles than the wide open spaces of the NSS. Now that’s a wind up or an incredible lack of speedway knowledge. I’ll go with the former, which is a shame.
