Poole v Belle Vue SGB Premiership A. 11th April 2018

And if my grandmother had balls, she'd be my granddad.

Foreverblue is on the money. Poole would have won regardless. It would have been closer but Poole just got better and better as the meeting went along. Who is to say that Cook and Worrall would have liked the conditions? All if, buts and maybe’s.

OK Steve Worrall, top GP star and world number one, having knocked Doyle off his mantle, was sorely missed. He would have beat Brady no problem and lapped a couple of the other Poole lads. Cook, would have just taken the P. Would have gone through the tapes in all his heats just so he could go off 15 metres to make the challenge more exciting. Then would have passed a rider a lap to win by a straight. Belle Vue would then have won by 20 points.

In truth Poole were in a vunerable position last night due to virtually no home advantage. But got dialled in to win at a canter in the end. Steve Worrall is being bigged up by some on here as some superstar. People need to get real.

You would have to say Blue  hand on heart that was a weakened Belle Vue side last night also Belle Vue having guests is not ideal people will  now get to realise Worrall is a huge loss.Scunthorpe also will suffer badly in the next few weeks especially away from home  and both teams will suffer. My only gripe was that a certain poster belittled  Worrall and never give him the credit  for starting in the sport as a Third tier novice and ending up as a England International. He   probably now  is the No 1 rider in the Championship and making huge progress with the Aces just hope when he comes back he can carry on his progression a big ask i believe.

I think Worrall is the best British rider riding in the UK.  Fast starter and quick around all track sizes/shapes, should be British Champion this year.

Despite having a bug I still dragged my arse out of bed and drove to support us. Thank God I did. No1 else bothered LOL

It was a lovely summer's day down there but I diddnt expect the track to be great because they have had alot of rain the last 3 weeks. But I never expected It to be that bad. It was still a little bumpy AGAIN i thought. And it was very very spongy and patchy. All riders struggled with it. Especially bend 3&4. Maybe they should have postponed this meeting and gave the track more time. But then again I suppose 14 riders got through the meeting safe, JUST.

We all know Poole are the best team assembled so it was always going to be hard. But we gave it a good go.

The score really flattening us TBH, we got a little lucky to go 6 up and then the luck ran out and the guests just gave up. Pathetic from them.

All the aces riders gave it there all in tricky conditions so just coming out of that meeting safe and well I will take.

For them Kurtz was a class above. Love this kid. He's another one that's going to be special. The rest all chipped in for them

BATCHELOR: we know he hates a dodgy track so in hindsight we should never have got him in. Very poor

STARKE: did well. Battled hard. Well done

LAWSON: made the gate in first while others were all over the place. He then went missing. Very poor

TUNGATE: very poor, typical early season form for him. But we know he's only really here for his home form

FRICKE: fast, very fast. Best I've seen him there. The only one to get near Kurtz and if track was better I think he could have passed him.  He was captain to

BEWLEY: a great performance  great win in 14. We all love danny boy

ETHERIDGE: Gifted his heat 2 win but did his job. Wasn't far of the pace.

So the guests lost it us. We've been lucky with guests lately. Today not so lucky

Onwards and upwards

Belle Vue wouldn’t have had a better chance. Makes the win even more enjoyable. They won’t get another chance this year. Pirates will be dialled in by the next few meetings.

Pirates top of the league. Happy days!B)

That's why supporters hate Poole.

What? Stating the truth? It is unlikely that Belle Vue will have a better chance to win at Wimborne Road this year due to the weather, track conditions, lack of match fitness of the Poole team etc...

No need for another match report/rider from me, read what @Steve Shovlar said for a Poole perspective, and @Phil The Ace for a Belle Vue one.

Track did improve as it dried out, and racing got a little better. Was nice to see some speedway finally. Roll on the rest of the season.

He does. Couldn’t beat Kurtz and beat Kildemand when he missed the start. Sundstrom beat him so he really only beat an out of sorts Josh G. Fricke did what was expected. Just a shame Belle Vue were severely weakened tonight but that’s not Pooles fault

Fricke was fast and scored well. I don't remember  he has ever said he doesn't like the track.

And presumably it made no difference to Wolves in the final having no Lindgren or Thorsell? Hang on, let me check what you said then ... Thought not.

What?

Looking forward to the Swindon meeting next week. The return of Batchelor.

Oh, and Brady V Morris, who is meant to be better than the Poole number one.

Me and Phil the ace basically said the same thing. Though I disagree that Fricke would have caught nd passed Brady if conditions had been better. Brady would have just been faster.

Foreverblue. Fricke has never said he hates the place. Just a figment of someones imagination. Made up rubbish.

Your comment about Steve Worrall tells us everything  about you very childish to be honest .   And  who has ever bigged up Steve ? i haven't all i have said was that Steve was going to be a huge loss   but for you  to have a  big downer on Worrall  is so weird as you could not wish  to meet a more level headed  modest professional rider.

So to be clear, Poole fans just have to take all the stick we get from the usual suspects and the latest bunch that have a bee in their bonnet?

They can claim that Matt Ford is ruining/killing British Speedway, Poole are the most dishonourable bunch of cheats going, Poole are sore losers (showers and fireworks), blah blah blah, yet Steve posts a CLEARLY tongue in cheek comment about the loss of Steve Worrall and you go on the attack...

Just to clarify, people can make libellous statements about the Poole Pirates, but Pirates supporters shouldn't stick up for ourselves, defend the team we support and make light-hearted jibes in return. Seems fair and even-handed!!

Batchelor 1 + 1 ....Shocking performance

good to see Dan Bewley amongst the points

Early days ,but think the Aces team needs some tinkering with  ?

To lose by 10 points with a severely weakened team against a Poole team that most neutrals favour to top the league, sorry but I dissagree. If we had had our starting 1-7 I believe we would of won that meeting last night. My only concern at present is Rowens poor away form.

As for Poole, they should get better so long as their Poles improve to what their fans are expecting. Time will tell.

My perspective as a Poole fan was that Belle Vue were only in the match through the first eight races because of Woryna avoidance of a Starke lock-up in Heat 1, and then the EF for Szczepaniak when leading in Heat 2. That gifted Belle Vue the early lead in the contest.

The middle portion of the match was all about gating and it was pretty even between the two sides, with Belle Vue looking sharper away from the tapes.

Once the track dried out a bit, Poole took control and pulled away. From Heat 9 onwards Poole outscored Belle Vue 28-14. You could also clearly see Sundstrom and Woryna improve as the night went on as they got dialled in to better racing lines.

I understand that Cook and a healthy Worrall would likely have put up more of a fight, but as a spectator there on the night, Poole were good value for their win in tricky conditions.

Are you really sure that Cook and Worrall wouldn't of scored 12 or more points between them, cause that was all they would of had to do to beat Poole last night.

Poole were lucky, end off.
