NEW LOOK FOR STAR

I have two model railway magazines on subscription and one of them charges me £3.45 a month by direct debit. Maybe you need to push your bank a little harder as Bauer Media can do it with their bank.

You've answered your own question there. Bauer are massive, and the scale of their payments processed each week will, with no disrespect to Phil, dwarf what the Star will pull in.

Interesting you mention Bauer, they are the ones who have pulled the plug on their NZ magazines with immediate effect.

Haven't received my copy of the Star this week (W/E April 11th). I appreciate that things are abnormal and am not whinging about this, but as this is my first week of the renewed subscription, I'm just wondering whether there might have been a hiccup?

My wife works for Bauer Media in radio, think she said Yvonne the owner is about 7th richest woman in the world or Europe or what ever.

Doesnt really matter if they say your networth is 3,2 billion... So yes, it's a bit different for Pinegen...

(right thread this time)

Star still getting to local Supermarket thankfully - well done to all involved.

Post seems to be very delayed from some areas, had a letter sent from Bank in Sheffield today posted 31 March 1st Class yet had letter posted in Scotland on Thursday 9th April at same time.

Got to be patient.

Last weeks Star arrived at 1.00 pm  today   It seems that the Post Office is only delivering to our street when there is a  full bag of mail to come to this street

WISH there was something that we could do about that, but ....

However, we are endeavouring to make each issue as non-date sensitive as possible so that it is worth reading whenever it arrives.

I don't think anyone should be blamed at present. Andrew Skeels is  doing sterling work in getting out a weekly magazine (tell everyone you know to buy it) and the postal workers are at no small risk in their duties and entitled to take time off either for the illness or other stress reasons and need to be covered.  I'm still waiting patiently for a £2m inheritance cheque from the estate of a relative I didn't even know I had, until a mail from his solicitor, landed in my SPAM box,   but as my admin payment of £1,000 was taken from my account last month I know it's on the way.

You could always wait until travel restrictions are lifted and go to Nigeria to collect in person ;)

Today’s issue is first class !!! Lots of innovative articles and interviews. Really enjoyed the riders reviews on the tracks.
I would like to see the star continue in this way once the pandemic is over and we resume racing.
in the age we live in now the vast majority can access results and local reports from every club so perhaps less emphasis should be given to the results and a bit more on new features.
I do enjoy the retro side but only if it’s of the time I’ve spectated otherwise it’s of no interest. This week’s issue imo is spot on. Well done to all involved.

Yeah, brilliant issue of the Speedway Star this week, including part 1 of a UK track anorak's paradise :D.  I do love reading rider's opinions of the tracks,  'Subscribe To The Star'; you know it makes sense....
