TWO copies sent every week although the location has changed

Thanks Phil. What do you mean by 'the location has changed' ?  Is that the place you send them to or the place they are available at ?  I went to the new building by King's X station (can't remember its name). Nothing beyond 2009 was listed on their system though (well as far as I could work out).

Would that be the Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries, which is at 21 Marnin Way, Edinburgh, EH12 9GD?

It moved to Edinburgh from Euston Street in London in 2009.

Although it seems this is unrelated to the British Library archives. They just represent the 5 other deposit libraries in the UK...so maybe this isn't the right place.

I know this was mentioned earlier in this topic and is regarding postage covers. We get Commercial Motor delivered by RTM media and they have switched to white envelopes in recent weeks from the clear/ polythene covers. Result is that it has been delivered every Thursday since the envelope has changed. Before it was erratic from Thursday to Monday deliveries. Possibly could help Speedway Star, although I do understand it has an expense attached to it.

SAD to report that Paul Parish, who was Editor of Speedway Star between 1963 and 1979, died last week. A tribute to Paul will appear in SS this and next week. He was a terrific colleague for many years and have very many happy memories of our time together.

Sad news indeed. A name synonymous with speedway during the seventies.

  • 2 weeks later...

My star again didn’t come on Thursday or Friday this week so I emailed for a digital issue and it came through very quickly, I will be seriously considering this for the future, very impressed.

Paper copy arrived in Saturdays post, that’s 4 days for RM to deliver something 24 miles away, absolutely abysmal.

BEGINNING with the issue dated March 10th, around 60 per cent of printed subscription copies will be delivered not by Royal Mail but NewsTeam, a rapidly expanding company that hand deliver thousands of national newspapers and periodicals every day. At present their distribution network does not cover the whole of the UK so the rest of our subscription magazines will still be handled by Royal Mail.

You may have seen newspapers like the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph and the Daily Mirror offering free delivery along with subscriptions. With more and more newsagents either closing down completely or not offering home delivery, NewsTeam are rapidly filling the gap but obviously the more newspapers and mags they can deliver the more viable their company becomes.

If we do experience any problems (which we certainly don't envisage) we can immediately switch a subscription from NewsTeam back to Royal Mail. In either case we will continue to offer a digital link to any print subscriber not receiving their copy of SS up to and including Friday of each week.

We are indebted to all those who have remained loyal to SS, no matter how you purchase it. Thank you and hopefully better times lay ahead.
