I hope a few make it up from the Midlands. It's always nice to see the visiting riders getting a bit of support particularly when they are getting a sound thrashing. Weather forecast for tomorrow for Gorton is dry with a simply tropical 8 degrees of warmth. Bring your scarf. I might be on my own!. I went on the new look Belle Vue website and it says the South Stand isn't open for NL meetings yet the ticket I've booked is for that stand, bizarre. Your ticket will be transferred to the grandstand. They will explain it all to you when you pick up the ticket. They are aware of there mistake
mikec
Met Office website currently showing forecast of a dry, cloudy Good Friday afternoon, 7 or 8 degrees. Hope to see plenty of Bees colours here tomorrow, racing has been really good so far this season, predicting a hard fought Colts win 50-40. I had tipped the office wallahs off that you were coming up the cobbled motorway from the Mudlands and suggested that since you were a known trouble-maker that you should be put in isolation in the south stand. We'll give you a cheery wave from the heated seats in the luxurious main stand, Have a great meeting!

Pretty decent meeting and as Gunner says not a bad turnout for a NL meeting. Having watched today's proceedings, a few things are pretty obvious: a. Neither of these two teams is good enough to win a championship b. Ben Woodhull is showing quite a lot of promise and a good dollop of character. c. Kean Dicken was not quite as slow as I thought he would be but he can only get better......hopefully. d. Jack Smith and Kyle Bickley showed quite a lot of class today e. When you see Jon Armstrong you are never sure if he has just sneaked out the back of the pits for another crafty fag or whether the smoke is coming from yet another of his blown up motors. f. Belle Vue certainly make an effort to put on a decent event for the punters and they should be applauded for their efforts. Apart from that, nothing to report really. Argos
Having seen Kean Dicken last season having some after the meeting rides when he had recovered from is injury at Birmingham, and he was woeful, but maybe understandable, I thought a winter sorting himself out he would start to progress, having seen him at BV today unfortunately that’s not the case, he really did struggle

I was watching him in the pits and his attitude seemed quite good with his dad mentoring him all the time. He didn't seem to throw a wobbler and they seem to be working on improving bit by bit, admittedly from a pretty low starting point. Not sure about the haircut though - a bit too Peaky Blinders for my tastes. Nice to see Andy Mellish and David Holt making themselves a bit useful in the pits. mikec
Enjoyed watching a couple of the Colts "lesser lights" today, Ben Woodhull & Joe Lawlor. Ben's limited opportunities in BV colours last season triggered many a debate about who was the better of the twins. Great to see him back on board, imo the kid has plenty of ticker & not afraid to get stuck in. Sure to improve with a run in the side. Good to see Joe Lawlor back, got steadily better as the match went on. Look forward to watching him develop this season. For the Bees, Danny Phillips was excellent early doors, good style & lines. Jamie Halder impressed too. Happy to have the Bees back in town, it's a crying shame & a disgrace what's happened, hope to see Cov back in the top league taking on the Aces ASAP.
Woz01
Bees just ran out of steam. Danny Phillips rode well until his final two rides where he was stuck out in gate 4, Halder also did well. Armstrong twice had bikes problems last lap while in the points, the final result should've really been a little closer. It was interesting to see how involved Mick Horton was, he was certainly passionate when Armstrong bike went first time round. We will do ok this season, no doubts about that. Belle Vue will get tonnes of race wins from there top 3 at the NSS and if they get regular back up like yesterday they won't lose many there. TurnTwo
I think Halder could be the godsend Coventry need this year at reserve as no disrespect to McDonald he isn’t going to ever make that jump from Mdl to nl

Only if you ignore Bickley's retirement which actually cancelled out Jon's two efs? Both times Armstrong stopped the races were 3-3, and both times they then finished as Colts 4-2s, so the two heats finished as 8-4 rather than 6-6. Had Jon not stopped in either heat the result would have been 48-42. When Bickley stopped the Colts were holding a 4-2 with that race subsequently finishing as a Bees 4-2, so without Kyle stopping the result would have been 52-38. So, therefore, if Jon & Kyle had completed those three races the result would still have been 50-40.
