2 riders (Fricke & Wajtknecht) excluded for dismounting at the starting gates to "garden".

Tungate excluded for missing 2 minutes although if he had problems with his bike in heat 3, by the time he gets off his bike in the pits, he will only have had about 2-3 minutes to sort the problem before being out again in heat 5. As the time limit between races has been reduced from 5 to 4 minutes, if there is no track grading, jump on another bike.

3 riders. Musielak hadbone as well.

Heat 15 stoped. Unsatisfactory start. Rider in white warned. Doesn't sound like new starting regs to me.

Well Mitchell Davey did better than zack W. And both beat boy wonder Bewley on his home patch tonight. Expected more from Bewley to be honest.

Tungate showed his UK form and Swindon showed a lack of heat winners. And both managers forgot to brief their riders about the new gardening rule. One would have thought once the first Swindon rider made the error it wouldn't have happened a second time.

You can't draw any conclusions from what is effectively a challenge match and not sure why anyone would attempt to to be honest. Other than to try and wind people up of course (yawn).

Must have been bloody cold spectating! Coming up for the 90th anniversary meeting on Saturday, looking forward to it.

So much hype about Aussie champ Tungate in the close season, as usual fails to deliver.

Aces fans better hope he isn't starting 2018 like he did 2017.

First meetings gremlins out the way for those expecting better things.

Good to see Stevie scoring big. Hope he has a big year.

Why not bud ? Was no one trying ?

As a brummies fan i have drawn the conclusion that Mitchell davey will be almost unbeatable in the third tier of he rides like he did tonight ...

Happy with a 6 point difference, Batch did well and Mitch scored more than I expected, so good for him.  Early days but not the size of defeat predicted by some.  Looking for a better performance from the robins on thurs.

This is Zach first meeting after a serious injury back at the end of July so he’s allowed some Slack. Not a bad start, 6 points down against a team most have as one of the favourites, roll on Thursday now.

Oh, teamsuits will not be an issue as i’ll Be able to make the Swindon riders out.

Nothing to worry about tonight, Bewley was having issues too, nothing like his usual self, plenty more to come from him, Tungate engine failure every time on last lap, get the niggles out of the way now.

When Fricke got excluded for gardening he admitted when interviewed they were all reminded 10 minutes before the meeting and it was a old habit.

Constant engine problems for Tungate every time on last lap, don’t worry he has  2 more meetings on Thursday and Saturday to sort them out before he faces Wolves.

I'm sure everyone was trying but it's the first meeting, bodies and bikes probably need 4-6 meetings to get into full swing.  And probably less intensity as no league points at stake.

People on here do it every year though, getting stuck into certain riders after one match and then looking silly later in the season.

What a load of old tosh as usual, well happy with the performance from the Robins also for the Aces  Bewley/Tungate had bike problems.Zach  has just comeback from a serious back  injury these meetings are there to blow away the cobwebs and get ready for the league programme.

Unbelievable  comments on here regarding Tungate from people who probably didn't even attend the meeting.

Bike problems all night , didnt finish a race , it happens to the best of riders especially so early in the season

" boy wonder Bewley " beat Swindon number 1 in heat 5, then seemed to suffer bike problems the rest of the night

Also Tungate didnt show any form as he was plagued by mechanical problems all night,

Other than that  .... your analysis of the meeting (all the way from the south coast) is spot on :)

Tungate had mechanical problems in every race apart from heat 5, when he failed to make the 2 minutes and was excluded. Bewley showed his talent by easily beating Morris in heat 5 when he also had the fastest time of the night.  Worrall and Fricke were impressive, Cook was only beaten by Morris and Batchelor and Drozdz and Etheridge were both on the pace and scored their averages on their debuts. I think that both will be good signings although we shall have a better idea about Drozdz when he has had a few away meetings.

Batchelor continued to show his liking for the NSS and obviously enjoyed denying Worrall and Fricke their respective maximum and paid maximum in heat 15.  Bellego and to a lesser extent Musielak, were good value and should do well this year.  Morris failed to win a race and never looked like doing so.  Davey did well at the the NSS in several NL visits last year so it was no surprise that he was on the pace and the better of the Swindon reserves on the night.  However,  Wajtknecht did enough in his first match back after injury to show he will be ok.

Overall, it would have been nice to have a bigger lead to take to Swindon but you've got to be satisfied when Tungate fails to score and you still win by 6. It's always difficult to judge in early season meetings but if Rohan can sort out his mechanical gremlins there's no reason why we can't get the overall win and maybe even the win at Swindon.
