SteveLyric2
According to the SS today, Team GB is to be 'franchised out' to a private entity rather than BSPA. It would seem that Rob Painter of Revolution Speedway is the frontrunner for the franchise, with the BSPA's insistence that Rosco remains Team Manager - at least for this coming season. Comments........?!
Star Lady
How can a national sports team be given to the control of a private entity? Well I suppose it is speedway! On second thoughts no one could do as badly as the BSPA so it's probably an improvement.
Grachan
Didn't Woffy offer to do it. Why not let him have a go if they are franchising it? What credentials does this Rob Painter have?

What credentials does this Rob Painter have? Rob Painter was mechanic to Jason Crump and later on Rory Schlein and/or Danny King? Rob is/was also 'Revolution Speedway' who I believe lease Speedway Bikes to riders and had a Team classification at the FIM.
MattK
It makes a lot of sense if the franchisee will invest in TeamGB and attract the best rider in British speedway back into the fold. Revolution certainly seem to be good at promoting their "brand". I wonder if GoSpeed are in the running?

Bavarian
Will Great Britain or England be riding in Test Matches again ? Otherwise there is only the "Speedway of Nations", now that there is no Speedway World Cup anymore.

I guess you can call the team 'England' with an English Red Lion on the body colour but not the Union Flag as we Scots don't have any International class riders at the moment, but hopefully we will in the years to come. If we do, then we could revert to the Union Flag and call the team, 'Great Britain'.

Bagpuss
For a start hopefully everything that Woffinden says that they should be doing and currently are not. Make it a much more professional set up with proper training schedules and a progression path right through to the first team with regular meetings on the continent.
