Cieslak begins the article by trying to say that he didn't want to blame the track.

However if you read on to the second and third paragraph

The surface of the Wrocław track for the first final tournament of the Speedway of Nations was  prepared by Phil Morris . It was quite wet and differed from the one on which the Polish riders were training at the beginning of the week. As a result, the Biało-Czerwoni were deprived of the strength of their own track. This translated into a poor result. After the first day of competition, Poland ranks last but one with 15 points on the account. We lose 10 points to the British leaders. - I will not talk about the track. They all had the same and rode better on him than we did. We are facing the second final tournament and we will do everything to make it better - said Marek Cieślak after the competition ."

No it doesn't directly blame Morris but the implication is obvious ---- unless you don't want it to be for some unfathomable reason.

I'm a constant reader of Sportowe Fakty and the message is quite clear "Poland is under attack by the British through BSI". Yes iot's sensationalist but revealing, especially some of the comment sections.

If you look at the translated article, there is a dash where there should be speech marks. This is consistent throughout the whole article.

Cieslak just speaks from... "I will not talk about the track....."

Naaaa, not sure what the Polish equivalent is to our Met Office.. Even BBC don't use met Office data for their forecasts now, they use METEOGROUP, which is American!!!

AAAHH so thats why Carol Kirkwood has those Texan sized bazookas

Really? ... what are you thinking that would be?

LIKE the idea of two riders from each country in a race. Maybe three man squads, no under 21 requirement.. Would favour the team with the most points winning but understand why that isn't an easy sell for some and TV. If we could guarantee a last heat decider like last night there wouldn't be the conversation. One day not two. Have actually fired this off to Armando Castagna.

Pairs and individuals in the same heat. Example:

Heat 1: GB Woffinden & Lambert v Sweden Lindgren v Poland Janowski.

Heat 2: Sweden Lindgren & Lindback v Russia Sayfutinov v Denmark Iversen

etc etc

Another empty stadium.

The BSI really need to work on their promoting.

I THINK you mean the home organisers. There were stories coming out of Wroclaw that it was a sell-out. Quite clearly not the case unless thousands have decided not to bother after last night's result.

So on the whole still a pairs meeting very similar to this and to the World Pairs of old.

Just without the daft stuff added on top.

Not sure myself.

As someone else has just said. The lack of public engagement with this type of format should be factored into the thoughts strongly.
World Championships in empty stadiums dont make much sense just because some folk at the FIM have such dogmatic ideas.
