The solution, IMO, is a guest pool. Riders like Hancock, Woffinden, Lindback ate who don't ride over here could be used as a guest by any team. Riders in the guest pool would get averages after 6 meetings like other riders.

 

Solves the issue of no guests being available and also solves the issue of using another teams rider as a guest. In effect they would be short term (1 week) signings.

That’s too open to abuse. Woffinden (or any of the others) could go through the motions and get themselves even lower averages for next year. Better that every GP rider has a minimum of 8 whilst a GP rider. It’s already crazy that those three, Zagar and Chris Holder have an average below Nick Morris.

And it wont be long before Jason Doyle is injured and has to be replaced by Jonas B Andersen and Swindon fans decide, idiot this, Im not going yet replace him with Hancock, Woffinden, Dudek.... and theyll attend.

This is a good idea although I'm not sure about giving them averages after 6 meetings. Would these riders accept to be in something like this?

So now what? You have two riders injured, you use R/R for one, what do you do for the other? Because the other 7 teams will all be racing themselves on most Mondays and Wednesdays now.

 

Come on, now your not being very proactive are we. ?? All them riders missing out because of this '1over8' rule will be allowed to guest if and when required. Surely you can see this as just another way to manipulate the rules to those who see fit....

Interesting idea although I'm not sure how it would work logistically or financially. None of those riders are currently set up over here. They could also demand huge pay rates for a call up.

Potentially it's not at all possible. But they all manage to get bikes here for Cardiff. Woffinden lives in the UK for a start so I'd be shocked if he doesn't have any kit here. It might not work but it preferable to either not being able to get a decent replacement or frankly having to use next week opposition rider.

 

You never know, the thought of a 8-12 meetings as and when it is mutually beneficial may be enough for the top guys to leave a bike or two in the UK?

BTW, if Nick Morris just rides Second Division, who can he guest in place of? Presumably, all of a sudden, he'd no longer be an over-8 point rider?

What a potty idea i could see a few dodgy doctors notes coming out . Imagine the wage demand hancock for example would want for one meeting

For me R/R No 1 out 2 and 3 take rides No2 out 1 and 3 No 3 out 2 and 4 4 out 3 and 5 5 out 4 and reserves.Reserve out champ league guest.More than 1 out Champ league guest for lowest averaged rider.

In most cases you would use you own teams riders and more than 1 out you would not be using riders from the same league.This would stop teams using ringers that ride a particular track well.

Just an idea as most fans don't like guests in most cases your own riders will have to cope with the loss of a missing rider.

 

I've suggested something like this in the past and still think it is worth considering.
