Thanks for the info, anyone ever traveled to Daugavpils?  Any info gratefully received.

Went to Daugavpils a couple of years ago for a Lokomotiv fixture. Flew from Birmingham to Kaunas (Lithuania) with Ryanair and hired a car from there. It was about a 2 hour drive and the road was fine. We were back in Kaunas for tea.

You nay find that the Kaunas flights have now been replaced with flights to/from Vilnius, but that's no great shakes. At £35{ish} each way, you can't argue. Weekend deals on car hire are also very affordable and diesel is cheap. The stadium is good and the racing is usually excellent there.

Latvia and Lithuania have come a long way towards being up to western standards, and my two travelling companions and myself had a great time out there.

Have fun

For what it's worth: ACU only requested 2 places.

All well and good the ACU requesting 2 places. The big question is whether the BSPA have reveresed their policy of handing out 28-day suspensions for riders taking part and only allowing teams with missing riders to use a NL guest in their place? There's nothing really connecting these two organisations, so whilst the ACU could be dangling a nice juicy carrot, the BSPA could yet wield a big stick to anyone who takes a bite.

Still, maybe that won't affect those two really British riders, Tai Woffinden anc Robert Lambert, eh?

OneSport are as equally as useless at confirming events as the BSPA are at confirming averages.  I don't know how many emails that are unread in their inbox, but at least 5 from me.

Think you’re the useless in this one. First we have to get all the FIM dates. If SEC announces dates and the FIM later wants them, it’s theirs to take.

So no point in going public at this point, blame on the FIM. FIRMLY!

So why couldn't OneSport tell me that in an email?  How does their inability to reply make me useless?

If the event in Daugavpils does take place I was planning to attend, but until confirmation of dates comes through I wont be booking any flights.

3rd round August 18th, Daugavpils (Latvia) - this is the same date as the U21 World Team Cup final in Outrup. Possible clash for some riders?

Following the cancellation of the Golden helmet this weekend the Poles have had to nominate the riders for the SEC qualification rounds

28th April Pardubice

That's an interesting one.

I didn't think PePe had even qualified for the Gold Helmet final.

I wonder if others refused the SEC place or if they just ignored the Gold Helmet completely?

Think I can answer that- The Golden Helmet semi`s and final that were scheduled to take place the last week in March, but  had to be put back to April 10th/19th. This meant that there was not enough time for the SEC qualifying riders(for Balakovo especially) if it was decided on April 19th. therefore the PZM decided to nominate for the SEC and the GP qualifying will still be as per the finishing positions in the Golden helmet .
