He also wanted to stay but Newcastle ordered him back. Signing Kus would be a big + Kus wanted a transfer away from us to Newcastle because havvy wouldn’t allow him to stay at Berwick and made him sign for us where he rode poor for half a season to push through a move which he eventually got after it went to arbitration, he isn’t the rider he used to be anymore, because of injuries and personal problems, certainly not a number 5 which is what we need so I wouldn’t have him back

He has now had his operation and if fit are raring to go for whoever he signs for.

IMO Kus will be back in in our squad for the coming season , regardless of what did /didn't/ may have happened...etc etc (delete as appropriate)

A team who didn't ( then) own him?? Newcastle wanted to sign him on loan originally but were forced to buy him in order to use him. Sorry but your first sentence doesn't make any logical sense, especially since Redcar wanted to use him that year. 3
BenR195
As said above, Newcastle didn’t instruct Kus to ride for them, we owned kus’ contract, he had agreed a deal with us in 2016, but Newcastle came in with more money and Kus demanded a transfer, havvy said they would have to buy him, it went to arbitration and they bought him, now he wants to come back because Newcastle ain’t using him
northyorksbear
I think the key factor to remember is that this is a "different" redcar to the one Kus wanted away from, I think he is very likely to be back and with a positive attitude, the right promotional and team management behind him he will do a good job. we all want better, but at times you have to take a) what you can afford and b ) what is available - applies to life in general

foamfence
We had some good riders last year, it seems that with the exception of Ben they've all gone elsewhere.

Did he get end up getting transferred to Newcastle after it went to arbitration? Yes. Is he the same rider as the one redcar first signed? No. As proved by his spell at reserve for Berwick and the fact newcastle didnt use him Is he a good quality number 5. No. If you think so why haven’t your team used him? You say it’s a load of s#%te but what part don’t you agree with? Kus is a nice lad but sadly redcar need someone better/more consistent since Charles has left Edited December 18, 2017 by BenR195

His best mate died on track, and it hit him hard, which is understandable but for a while he went through a stage where if he gated he would do well, but if he never he’d struggle because he’d shut the throttle off if someone came near him, and I know he was troubled with injuries last season, like I’ve said, nice lad but redcar need someone more consistent at number 5, and the options are running out, can only really see Proctor, TJ and Kus that I can see us going for and Proctor would be my first choice

Yes Havvy was asking for Silly money and then Newcastle took it to arbitration and bought him cheaper, and that is my point drops to reserve then ends up at number 1, not exactly consistent is he, redcar can’t afford to have him as a number 5 is the point I’m making
cheekycobra
Most seem certain that JBA's brother will be joining the Bears, but on what average. I thought it would be 7.00, but a few new Swede's/Danes are been signed up on a 5ish for other teams.
