Meetings have been cancelled to aid Scunthorpe to be able to secure a better choice of guests . That is the real reason and it is out of order to cancel fixtures just to give you a better choice of guests or to give you more time for your injured riders to recover. Hooray !!! Thank you...someone from another team who can see exactly what happened with the Fixtures too.

It would have stopped all the crap that has been posted this last month or more. Don't take it personally, Scunthorpe declined proposed fixtures until Worral was fit. Sheffield for other reasons and whilst you've got both those clubs and Leicester on the management committee there is no reasoning beyond their immediate wishes. Why oh why have they not come out with an explanation to allay any fears or allegations????????? Edited July 24, 2018 by Whisperer

jamlad
Can anyone from the promotion clarify what exactly is going with our home fixtures ??? This team could have finished the league top if the meetings were held yet looks like we going to lose out for not getting meetings in Looking at Worky website no home meeting w/e 12/08/18 now just away to Newcastle So there's still Sheffield, Peterborough, Newcastle home meetings to get in with cut-off being sept 8th-9th ,

Now Jason Garrity is possibly injured, the "Management Committee" may now decide to also cancel the Aug 5th Meeting v Scunthorpe as well. After all, looking at the teams that are not racing that night ( Berwick, Edinburgh, Redcar and Sheffield), the choice of guests may mean another postponement is looming. 1 hour ago, jamlad said: Can anyone from the promotion clarify what exactly is going with our home fixtures ??? With every possibility that we won't get the Championship fixtures in, surely it would have made sense to do so. All this b******s about having to get the KOC quarter finals raced before July 31st doesn't apply to the Peterborough and Lakeside meetings. Granted they also were told they couldn't run on the intended date, like Workington (July 13th). Lord Lucan
The way that weather forecast was looking this afternoon we may not even get the KO Cup tie run never mind a league fixture, some much needed rain coming at the most in opportune moment? Going to have to look into the idea of double headers shortly if we want the fixtures done, we could start with the Scunny match next weekend, league and Championship Shield semi, everyone should be there but.....I think a local vicar doesn't like any interruptions to his fire and brimstone speech with an early start to the speedway so, I've answered my own question I guess with that one but, it's going to have to happen soon as time is fast running out?

lucifer sam
It's a shame that more teams have not been more helpful in getting their meetings in at Workington. Scunthorpe have done so, and fixed a date. It's the second time that Scunny have done Worky a favour this season.

Maybe the reason for that is they are worried Rob Godfrey will probably get them cancelled anyway if you can't get the guests you want to cover for your injuries

Agreeing to postpone the League Meeting on May 19th, but then cancelling five of their home meetings in a futile attempt to reach the top 4? They have certainly paid the price for the May 19th episode, what price has been put on favour number 2??
