Paul
Available soon will be the Barry Thomas Story. Thommo started his career at Division 2 Canterbury before moving full time to Division 1 Hackney, and then had spells at Crayford, Rye House and finally ending his 20 year association with Hackney back at The Wick with his 20 year testimonial in 1989. More details on pre ordering this must book will be available soon. The book launch will be on Sunday 18th February at the Celebration of Speedway at Paradise Wildlife Park. Used to enjoy seeing him leg-trailing round the banking, when he visited Halifax.

steve roberts
Fantastic talent on a bike, up there with the best. I would agree...speedway isn't always about the 'star' riders and World Champions but those who entertained the fans in their own resplendent way! Gemini
Can't help thinking that Cheetahhawk would have loved this book as I know Barry Thomas was one of her favourite riders.
hawks 1975
An all time favourite - many a time he was worth the price of admission alone - just as well he could never gate! Who is this published by?
Argos
Every time I saw Thommo he had a fag in his mouth and he was always smiling, always had time for the fans up in the bar after a meeting, a very under rated rider

Gemini
Much missed. I remember speaking to her for the first time in the car park at Oxford because I was interested that she was carrying a Hackney Hawks bag. Lovely lady.

Knew her quite well and remember the time that she told me that Garry Middleton gave her a birthday card.
