DC2
No, seriously, Chris looked ready to jack it all in last year and a bad start could see him working behind the scenes. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him working for Jack or Nick.

That makes sense to me!
rocket007
If the proposed New Stadium has been built in Kit form as detailed previously, who paid for it and who is paying the storage charges, as it was stated that it is finished and awaiting construction. Also, having visited the Abbey last season and seen the housing development, I can't see any way the Stadium can survive, as it is on prime construction land. Alarm bells should have been ringing when all the delays over drainage problems turns into a statement that Stadium can't be relocated, but housing can be built. The next will be that the New grandstand will now replace the old one, and once demolished nothing else will get built. If Barretts have sold houses on the pretext of Stadium being moved, then who is liable, and are there any plans available to show what exactly Barretts have permission to build and where. At present the plans are for the track to be shortened, the new stand will go on the back straight & then the old stand will be demolished. However, I have serious doubts as to whether the new plans will be passed by the local authority. The letter from Barratt Homes has been very well written by their solicitors & lays it very firmly in the stadium's owner's responsibility to ensure that there is no noise nuisance from "greyhound racing, speedway & the car parks". It further go's on to say that the local authority needs to ensure that these terms are met or either present or future tenants will have good reason to complain. Barretts letter may be an attempt to preempt the Government's proposal to shift the responsibility of dealing with any noise nuisance onto the developer rather than the venue when new houses are built near an existing music or sports venue. But Stadia UK have screwed up by moving the position of the "new" stadium to the position of the existing one which is nearer new houses they have already built rather than having it next to the road which was away from them. I would rather keep the present site but this may open up a can of worms and give Stadia UK more continual excuses to not proceed with the stadium development. Have Stadia UK screwed up or is this all part of their stalling tactics? If planning permission is refused, this allows Stadia UK to dramatically throw their hands in the air and proclaim "we tried our best". If permission does get granted, what's the betting development gets tied up in "legal wranglings" between Stadia UK and the housing developers.

martinmauger
Speaking personally, if it weren't so far away I'd swing by the storage facility for my own interest to look at the stadium sections for comparison with the rendered picture graphics ....
