The SAINT
So Panthers get fined £40k for letting Jack Holder miss a meeting, Leicester get no fine for letting Pawel miss this meeting. Would love to see this stand up in a court of law! totally different circumstances surely? pawel is obviously not bothering to ride over here again this year and is withholding his services... holder was wanting to ride over here for the rest of the season (so couldn't withhold his services without a ban) so the promoter took the bung/bribe (from poland) and the punishment instead
flagrag
Marc Bates is the Leicester co Promotor and has been since July he works along side Neil Machin & Dave Darcy. It seems pretty clear that Pawel will get a ban for not riding at Sheffield tonight unless a medical certificate can be provided

screm
While I`ve no doubt that the good people of BT Sport will hype this meeting up to an inch of its life most of us know that as far as relegation.promotion is concerned its a bit of a non starter.
Steve55
Relegation/promotion, what a load of rubbish, all Sheffield have to do is ask and they'll be welcomed to the top league with open arms. Lakeside coming from the National to the premiership makes a total mockery of these two meetings.

Lakeside coming from the National to the premiership makes a total mockery of these two meetings. The Lakeside situation isnt a mockery. They were an established top flight team with a top flight licence which has been 'on ice' this year whilst certain matters were sorted. They raced in the NL to maintain a prescence and are perfectly entitled to retake their place in the top flight. Dont disagree that the promotion/relegation tie could be described as a mockery though.

Fair point regarding Lakeside, but if relegation/promotion is to work, and be taken seriously, you can`t have a team simply being air lifted from the bottom tier of speedway into the top league. mikebv
Leicester will beat Sheffield over two legs. And then get relegated?😲 And get replaced by Sheffield?😂 Edited October 9, 2017 by mikebv
stevebrum
Leicester will beat Sheffield over two legs. And yet people will still say that a Championship team is nearly as strong as a Premiership team. Always will be nonsense. The Lions just way too superior over the championships finest. What a bore fest so far.
Grand Central
A Championship winning team could usually be expected to finish their season on a real high. ... or some bright spark could come up with this daft idea. To end with a damp squib. Real brain boxes those promoters aren't they? Edited October 9, 2017 by Grand Central
marko
Will BT Sport opt out of showing the second leg? this is so very one sided and i must admit i did not expect it, I am sure Sheffield are better than this however the score is what it is and there always has been a sizable gap between the first and second divisions, I think even if Kings Lynn had finished bottom they would have enough over two legs to take on the best of the Championship teams, its down the order where it really shows.
