DutchGrasstrack
Gomolski has been mentioned. And 100k zloty.
Bavarian
Torun stinks ! it was Torun who were illegally paying money to the Peterborough promoter for Jack Holder, and now it is Torun again with this attempted Jacek Gomolski bribary I hope the PZM and League takes firm action. They did not hesitate to punish RoW Rybnik and deducted just enough points for them to get relegated to the lower league. For the club, that was a really harsh punishment, for one of their riders (Laguta) failing a drugs test. This Rybnik club's punishment saved Torun from automatic relegation. Now I wonder what the PZM will do with Torun in this bribary scandal. Torun should never get away with such dirty behaviour. It stinks!

NickRushbrook
IF this turns out to be true, then surely Torun would be relegated? Such a crime would be far worse then what was committed by Rybnik...well, Laguta anyway. I can see this being conveniently brushed under the carpet though.
SteveLyric2
Isn't the Torun CEO also one of the main officers of the PZM??!!
f-s-p
How was the Laguta ruling different to the cases of Dudek and Loktajev?
RobMcCaffery
Those who lecture or goad us on how wonderful Polish Speedway is might like to switch on Google Translate and read this. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/715795/jest-pierwszy-zatrzymany-w-aferze-korupcyjnej-wydzial-do-walki-z-korupcja-przesl It reports that a 40 year-old man has been detained by police following allegations of strange proposals being received by Gdansk riders, notably Kacper Gomolski. Excess money in sport can so easily attract corruption. Let's hope this is either a mistake or an isolated story. If not.......
PolskiZuzel
Evidence has been presented to the Polish Authorities - watch this space!!! SportoweFakty.pl reports: Gdansk's speedway boss, Tadeusz Zdunek, last Sunday, after the EkstraLiga decisive promotion/relegation battle revealed that in the week preceding the meeting his riders were getting strange proposals. Over time it became apparent that Kacper Gomólski got an offer from one of the Torun club sponsors -, I.e. PLN 100 thousand and a contract in Toruń, in exchange for poor riding . The corruption department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk has already taken over the recording with a corruption proposal. The first witnesses were also interviewed, including Mirosław Kowalik, Gdansk's team manager. There is also the first detainee a 40-year-old man. The event took place on Tuesday. The police does not want to reveal even the man's initials. It also does not confirm whether it is a sponsor who came up with a proposal to the player. According to the official statement, the detainee faces up to 8 years in prison

Mark
2,190 average this season, very poor indeed lol I can't argue with that. But he was riding against top league riders verses Torun. That is my only get out clause..
RobMcCaffery
Sportowe Fakty are putting the boot further in with a short history of Polish scandal, going back to a dubious result that hurt Polonia Bydgoszcz - when they were the club of the police force. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/715990/zuzlowa-korupcja-na-golasa-i-ze-strozami-prawa-przebranymi-za-kibicow I take it they're saving the full horror stories for the Hallowe'en edition....
