Bv Vs Lakeside Play-off Semi Leg 2

Lakeside take a 16 point lead to the NSS but the Colts have Bewley & Smith riding. However the Hammers conveniently have Nick Laurence R/R and have brought Edwards into reserve.

On the basis that his absence strengthens the Hammers no less!

The Hammers' website just says 'unavailable' re Nick - read into that what you will.

Wish I could get to this one. Will be a great meeting without a doubt. Could go either way and the inclusion of Jason Edwards seems a sensible move.

Great prospect if we win to face either Eagles or Kings in the Final. Either way should put a smile on Cook's face with the prospect of a decent crowd.

Well the Colts have not failed to win by less than 16 all season at home and that's without Lee Payne who was averaging around 9, with Dan and Jack back along with Rob, and Kyle I expect the Colts to pull this back, if the Hammers restrict us to less than 16 it will be a great effort from them.

A lot depends on the first 5/6 heats, if Lakeside hold their own and all of a sudden it's still a 15 point deficit with 9 heats to go anything can happen, on the flip side a few 5/1's to BV and a 4/6 deficit will quickly come to them and they'll romp away and be in the final.

At the end of the day this is national league racing and all about development. I actually think it's a pretty sad state of affairs that in a league dominated by young British riders, the closest any team has got to the Colts is 16 points at the NSS. It's a big fast race track and 90% haven't a clue how to ride it. Out of the box, we are not producing enough talent. Only Watjenect has done anything of note here and he is clearly a talent. Otherwise, apart from home riders, where Dan Bewley is an outrageous talent, there really isn't anything.

As a nation we need to get our heads around big fast tracks. They'll never make it otherwise.
