dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Speedway riders do not ride for the same club 5 days in every week, if they did then your point has weight, The Poles are effectively tying their riders to 3 leagues, meaning 3 day working weeks. How ironic that the great man Lech Wałęsa,who fought for workers rights in Poland, now Polish speedway is trying to reverse it. PS no idea how the type has suddenly gone bold.lol I think the Poless will argue they are paying for 5 days a week. The contracts are stipulating availability for promotional work and practice etc as required as well as matches. The renumeration reflects this and is why they believe they are correct to expect full compliance.

Additionally they would like to minimise the risk that riders are unavailable due to injuries sustained in other employment.
Trees
Exactly. Additionally they would like to minimise the risk that riders are unavailable due to injuries sustained in other employment. But that works both ways...
Gunner85
Now there are fixed nights won’t Tai be back on a nice low average ?? He said he would not be back unless there was a fixed night policy.

hyderd
Exactly. Additionally they would like to minimise the risk that riders are unavailable due to injuries sustained in other employment. Someone should remind the Poles that the last speedway rider to sadly die from injuries sustained in a crash was in Poland, also the great D Ward lost his speedway career through a crash in Poland.

hyderd
How is that relevant to the point Waieheke made? Because they want to minimize the risk of their riders getting injured so affecting their teams and leagues, more riders suffer bad injuries in Poland than anywhere else.
waiheke1
Yeah but thats still irrelevant. It doesnt matter how dangerous the job is that you are paying someone to do, they are still less likely to miss a days work injured as a result of working elsewhere if u stop them working elsewhere.

Point taken, so lets hope in the future someone, somewhere pays enough money so riders don't have to be tied to Polish contracts
T.N.T.
Well Fredrik Lindgren has signed for Czestochowa and Jacob Thorssell has signed up again at Zielona Gora and have it on good authority that both should be fit for next season and certainly in the team plans once everything is known after the AGM this weekend. Going to be hard to release two at least from last year's team as the limit looks like being 41 and at the end Wolves were on 47.44 so sadly changes have to be made. Could Piotr Pawlicki be one for a return to Britain but will it be at Wolves ?

Beowulf
Really annoyed at this. Fred and Jacob have never ridden for anyone else in the league and both sides, club and rider, have shown great loyalty. Screwed up by one rule.

Wolfsbane
So that's Sam, Rory, Fred, Kyle & Nathan + 2 others. Remind me what are Tai & Piotr's averages? Over 8?

Tai 7.03 (doesn't include matches ridden in 2016 so maybe an adjustment will apply ? Piotr 7.
Wolfsbane
Mmmmmmmmmmm. Only 1 rider over 8.00. Might be controversial but just because we can do we have to?

Piotr Pawlicki isn't though. If Fred wants to return a top three of Lindgren, Masters and Pawlicki is very strong.
