Premiership Grand Final 2nd Leg - Wolves Vs Swindon 4 Oct

Recommended Posts

Well done to the Robins. A deserved win in a teriffic final. You have to feel a little sadness for Wolves for whom injuries/guests simply came at the wrong time.

I wonder if this rule might get changed again for 2018?!

Anyway a play-off final with the top two teams over the season - everything is rosy in the Premiership - isn't it?!! lol

There are 2 facts and my opinion about these play off's

Fact 1 Swindon have been the best team over a season, therefore thoroughly deserved their victory.

Fact 2 Wolves put on a fantastic effort and very nearly pulled off what most fans thought was impossible without their top 2. Massive respect to the Wolves team and fans

My opinion. Had the ref seen the video shown on BT, Belle Vue would of been in the final. he didn't they weren't, end of story.

Didn't think Swindon had a chance after Monday but certianly proved me wrong, well done to the Robins.

Great effort by Wolves overall, when you lose that narrowly someone or something will always get highlighted and unfortunately this time it was Chris Harris. No doubt there was nobody more disappointed and frustrated than Chris himself.

Congrats to the Robins and their fans. They have been good at Wolves on all 3 occasions so no real surprise they had the edge without out top 2. Unfortunately for us - we just ran out of race winners. Main positive on the evening was that Nathan Greaves really stepped up and will hopefully be back for a 2nd season, and Rory Schlien proved what a great captain he is. Thank you so much RooBoy! Kyle and Sam, not a lot more they could have done.

The KOC awaits - I know we have Bomber as our guest on friday - but will they try someone new against BV. Nick Morris wouldn't be too bad :D

Lets just hope Freddie and Jacob are fit come March/April...and we do it all again!!

well well well, what a turnaround that was eh!

To be fair I didn't think we'd win after the Wolves thoroughly deserved win at the Abbey, but kudos to the boys, remarkable effort and fully deserved title win in 2017.

Yes, we beat a weakened Wolves but if a guest was to be picked around Monmore Harris would have been towards the list that was available.

well done Rosco and here's looking forward to 2018.

I'm just sick of reading goading posts on social media from Aces fans.

So you thought the best course of action was to join in and write another goading post yourself!

We need either to ignore these idiots and Wolves fans have also been disgraceful on social media, or make sensible and reasoned posts to calm down the situation. With the likelihood of both teams meeting in the KO Cup the last thing Speedway needs is people trying to further inflame the situation. Suggesting that Belle Vue riders are to blame for the unfortunate injuries to Lindgren and Thorssell isn't going to help.

Back on topic. Even though I wanted Swindon to win after finishing top of the league table you have to feel for Wolves but at least their fans can take a lot of pride in the fact that their decimated team fought hard and did remarkably well to lose by a single point.

Fair enough if you do win against our patched up lineup, Swindon deserved it tonight so fair play to them. We aren't all bitter like BV fans still are about last season!

Wolves fans still go on about 93 lol.

That will be such as the following post from an apparently respected Wolves fan on social media...

"Did Rohan Tungate and Kenneth Bjerre get Swindon winners medals tonight?"

If Wolves fans want to dish it out to our riders they need to learn to take some back. I wish Jacob and Freddie the best of luck in their recovery by the way. Never nice to see riders hurt.

Oh, and for the record I'm still waiting to hear about these social media posts from Aces riders that one particular Wolves fan got so precious about...

Oh Lordy, the not very sweet things that grow on a vine are still in evidence.

Swindon won, we lost and have accepted it. Try to do the same for God's sake.

I think you'll find it's often Wolves supporters on here that keep resurrecting it, especially trying to blame Aces riders for the unfortunate accidents. It doesn't matter now why we lost or how fair or otherwise it was, we lost, we weren't in the final and most of us have moved on. My concern is that things are calmed down before we meet in the KO Cup.

Have to say how complimentary and dignified the Wolves fans have been, must be gut wrenching to miss out by a point after 30 hard fought races, both sides had heroes step up at certain times. Nathan Greaves has come on bundles this season, my pivotal moment is Nick Morris heat 13 pass.

Last nights meeting was pretty good considering the slick track, I expect that was because of worries that it might rain and wasn't watered enough. I don't think the slick track like the track that the Swindon riders moaned about on Monday didn't suit the home riders especially Bomber who likes it grippier. Easy to say after the event but Nicholls would probably have been a better guest as he is a better gater, Like Monday it was the same for both sides and the better team won overall.

You can have it, couldn't care less now.

I hope we get two decent meetings and you will have a wider choice of guests. However, I do understand that it is nigh on impossible to replace Lindgren at Monmore but you can try and get a NSS specialist for the other leg.
