Peterborough Panthers 2018

Fake news is just one side of the story with a new buzz word. There always has been two sides with the truth somewhere down the middle.

There is quite a lot to this that just doesn't add up IMO, for instance at the end of last season when Leicester were in danger of folding i.m given to believe that Ged wanted to make an offer to take charge only to be told that it had already been sorted. Then we have the Trevor Swales retirement announcement , can't say as anybody would blame him I suspect he's generally had enough of it, even if it has come at a very inapt time .

If I was Ged I’d keep the Torun money as a golden handshake as I think the promotion rights at Pboro and any other club are more or less worthless keep the Torun money and walk away , with Swales walking as well my guess that’s what will happen -then it’s down to if anyone else out there with a small fortune to lose fancies being a speedway promoter at Pboro .

Spent already allegedly. The facts of running Peterborugh speedway are the same as they have been for 15 years so it can't have been a surprise that wads are needed.

If that is the case and upwards of £40k has been needed just to get the Panthers from August to the end of the season then the set up isnt viable within whatever the current business plan is.

Whether its Ged or someone else they will need to look for a diferent way in the future.

40K is a smokescreen figure and shouldn't be confused with the actual figure which nobody has officially announced. More like 12 to 15 k including the losses which would be incurred for free 2018 opening meeting IMO.

As ever there seems to be be more smoke and mirrors than in a travelling fairs fun house

(And thats speedway generally not just Boro)

If this had genuinely happened, you would have thought that Rathbone would have said so at either at time, or at the time he was suspended, rather than leave it until now.

He's been less than complete with the truth at least once, that is, when he announced the heavy fine without revealing that the size of the fine actually matched the size of the bung received from Poland.

Problem is that you can't win in such situations. There's always something that you should have said but didn't or shouldn't have said but did. It was all as clear as mud and still is in many respects and that's the way it'll stay. This is speedway after all where clarity, transparency and logic are always at a premium.

Well, we've certainly had none of those from the current Peterborough promoter, who now seems to be trying to rewrite history.

Just had a look at how that just giving page is doing for geds fine, and so far it's managed to raise a massive 320 pound of the 10 grand figure it's trying to raise.

Seriously why would anybody want to hand over that kind of money collectively to Ged when no actual figures of the fine involved have been made public, I seriously want speedway to continue at the showground but to just hand over money without facts is nothing short of barmy.

But Godfrey did take a little wedge didn't he.

In that if there was a grain of truth in what he said yesterday, he would have surely revealed it before now. The date of the fours was August 6th. In the meantime, he's had his licence suspended and taken part in a tribunal. Surely you'd reveal it at one of those points. If there was any truth in it.

Mind you, if you really want to be that gullible...

I am sure Crump 99 was suggesting that if you know the truth we would all be pleased to hear it. Your post gives no indication that you do. Frankly I doubt that many actually heard everything said yesterday by Ged.. It has also been suggested that Rathbone had been additionally fined for what statements he has made.

Put all your cards on the table before the trial whilst stocking them up with ammunition at the same time, talking about gullible, that cap fits lovely on you.
