Crump99
Panthers went second division when Mick Horton stepped in to "save" the club. Unfortunately from that moment not only were Panthers in Second Division but everything looked that way as well. It all went pear shaped as expected Rodders but he did save the club to some extent to be fair. The school report from RF was quite damning though. Whether there were other options, who knows? We're still here atm though, just, so there was something positive!
Crump99
Was Thursday successful attendance wise? I don't think anything has been successful attendance wise at the EoES since 2002 when Panthers were last a primary and valued regular user of the Showground. The distress signals usually appear at some point. The only ones who could have stuck with it are Frost and Mahoney. It has broken everyone else since. Bratley was in post from 2003-2010 and his final Panthers blog he said: "During my time at Peterborough, I have done everything humanly possible to attract newcomers to our sport and all I might add on little or no budget (then he lists a load of examples before the summing up): You name it and I’ve pretty much done it and all the time, our attendances have remained constant. Constantly poor. He also said that Panthers can't survive on gates alone and need a thriving commercial section. Don't know how thriving it was then compared to now? LagutaRacingFan
Peterborough is a thriving city with a growing population. I just hope Brexit doesn't turn us into Kings Lynn or Ipswich, with respect to those cities, they're fairly dull and insipid. waytogo28
You need to be well rooted Europhile to live in thriving Peterborough. After the £1 million given to Boston for extensive English Language training - Peterborough is the next most "needy" city in that respect. Baldyman
It's an often used tactic of promotions to alienate fans and drive them away...its actually one of the few things they all seem to do very well.

I do hope that, as some posters suggest, Buster Chapman does read Forum comments, because this is very relevant to how he has been running KLS. Crump99
to be honest him and old sausage fingers did an awful lot to drive away quite a few fans with their bully boy tactics.... You and they must have done something to upset them. Never bothered me. I'm sure that they'd had plenty of private conversations about the guff I post but that's as far as it got apart from some of Bratters nice PMs when he wasn't happy, which is most of the time
Blackadder
Did the SCB hearing scheduled for Tuesday 7/11 take place? Not seen anything about it. Edited November 10, 2017 by Blackadder
wealdstone
Did the SCB hearing scheduled for Tuesday 9/11 take place? Not seen anything about it. We are only the paying public and have a selfish interest in the survival of our club. Why on earth should we be so self centred as to expect those that hand out justice to have any interest whatsoever in us. We should just be grateful that they are so magnanimous that they are willing to take our money from time to time

But perhaps less likely to be good for the future of speedway in Peterborough....
wealdstone
BSPA was formed so that promoters could adapt the rules to suit themselves in any given circumstance. IMO
Tsunami
BSPA was formed so that promoters could adapt the rules to suit themselves in any given circumstance. IMO Yes, but only when it is passed by a majority. 1 isn't a majority
