If the new calculator with big buttons which Santa brought me is working properly, I make it to be like this-

If Sargeants average is 3.81, it leaves 7.15.

If his average is 2.56, it leaves 8.40.

This is based on Vaculik 8 and KP 6 as per Flagrag.

In the case of it being 2.56, they could bring in Hans Andersen and swap Josh Bates for Lasse Bjerre if Josh really does have to quit speedway.

If I'm wrong let me know and I'll send the calculator back!!

Like the sound of this, where exactly (web site/link) has this been confirmed? Would seem to leave room (finances permitting) for another top end heat leader to give us much needed clout in heats 13 & 15.

Vaculik will be on a 9.00 as he is a GP rider. Pieszczek is a 7.00 is he not? Sarjeant should be a 3.81 surely seeing as that is his established average regardless of what he did in the Championship.

Why would they be 8.00? They should either be assessed at 9 (which is the proper level when compared to other riders) or be able to retain their original average because that is their average.

Assessing at 8.00 makes to sense when Morris, Thorsell and Kurtz are all over that.

Ah but did it state that the team's one 8 & over rider would remain as the team's only named 8 & over rider even if his average dropped below 8 points?

Or are people jumping to conclusions?

Gone beyond daft, hasn't it?

Why can't riders just have an average based on what they did in league speedway in the season just ended. If they rode in GB league use that one. If they rode in Poland or Sweden but not UK, use their average from those leagues with an adjuster which is set by the FIM immediately after end of each season. If they rode both Poland and Sweden the higher figure applies.

Why is there this obsession with treating GP riders differently. The GP's are a different kind of speedway.

Sarj achieved that average in the Elite League. The Elite League is no more. It was scrapped a new league was introduced that initially used Premier League averages before using Premier League/Championship averages divided by 1.2. Why should Sarj have to use his old EL average when nobody else with a PL/Championship average has to? Riders no longer keep their old averages if they switch league but get a conversion now - we could argue for hours if this is right or wrong, personally I think it's right, riders should always sued their most current average.

As already explained, no - it's 1 x 8.00 or over, not 1 x 8.01 or over.

Exactly and if his 2017 Div 2 scores had all been converted to equivalent Div 1 scores his previously attained 2016 average would have been reduced would it not?

It would appear that Ashley Morris has a converted average from his 2017 championship average so it would appear that Sarjeant  will have his average converted in the same way.
