Exactly my thoughts on first glance Baldy. Pretty sparse fixture list! Three weeks between some fixtures not just two.

Pleased to see the 16 lapper back as well as the traditional Good Friday double header on the positive side.

Surely they could have plugged those gaps with a couple more individual meetings? Billy Sanders memorial, Star of Anglia etc..

Also just noticed we face Lakeside in the KOC. Didn’t we have a bye in the first round and then face either Lakeside OR Peterborough in the second round?

Agree with everything not impressed with the fixture list with the big gaps in home meetings. Promoters don't seem to want to put individual meetings on anymore. Not sure going straight into League Cup meeting is a good thing as could always do with a challenge meeting to start the season. If Chris couldn't get a complete Premiership team to come couldn't he get a Premiership select team to come including some of our old riders like Nathan, Kyle, Scotty to name a few.

We were due to face the winners of Peterborough & Lakeside in the KOC but looking at the fixtures those meetings are not planned, so have Peterborough pulled out of the KOC?

I think the days of regular weekly speedway throughout the season are long gone. Many of the current crop of followers are for league racing only and anything else no longer hits the mark unless it is a GP. Sad really that this is what is on offer now but thankful that I watched the sport for many years when you looked forward to the weekly fix. It was the thrill of racing be it league, knock out cup 4TT or individual meetings. It was the riders and the machines you followed not just the team racing. Too late to change now and less may not mean more in terms of supporters coming through the gate but time will tell. Also not sure how less can be good for those riders trying to make a living from riding unless they are lucky enough to double up or down. It may be similar to last years fixture list in terms of frequency of meetings but it cannot be good to have one home meeting every three weeks. If the stadium is available then could they not have put out an NL team. The other point is that with fewer meetings do the stadium landlords earn less or have they put the rent up. If it carries on with fewer and fewer meetings how long before landlords say it is not worth it any longer as they may make more from banger and stock car racing. So many issues both at national and possibly local level it begs the question, do the custodians really know where they are taking the sport.

but best of all....new sound system.

Just a shame the best Presenter won't be there after waiting all this time.

Hope rumour of Wayne Bavin taking over on the mic isn't true.

I thought the whole point in changing the race days of both leagues was to avoid the clashes with riders riding in both leagues. Then they reduce the amount of fixtures when they could have regular meetings every week except obviously when they face a team with the same race night. It might lead to more fans lost to the sport as the meetings are so spread out.

No wonder more riders are pulling out of the sport in this country as how they can make a living out of it with less and less meetings.

I agree it is a disappointing fixture list but that is due to the numbers agreed, we do need to start with a challenge v ex Witches possibly and we should always have a John Berry/Billy Sanders Memorial but these type of fixtures don't make money. The new fixtures don't help the lesser riders with regular speedway and I think we will lose more by not staging regular speedway - it was part of the problem when we were in the top league (along with a poor team).  Hopefully we will find some fixtures so that at least some of the Reserved dates are used. Maybe if the fixtures were arranged centrally and not with such input by the promoters of the two sides, we could have had more league fixtures instead of reducing them purely on cost and the inability of some teams to arrange their fixtures evenly. Finally please no Wayne Bavin, Foz is actually better than him. Rob Chandler would be better.
