bandigo
Personally don't see Summers as a number 1 for us. His performances aren't consistent enough in my personal opinion to be in that position. He is a good rider in fairness but we need a solid number 1 from the start of the season. The difference consistency brings at number 1 was well demonstrated by Nick this season.
emilali
So if the rumours are to be believed Berwick will have at least 4 of the team from this season just gone back next year. Quite baffling as to why to be honest when they finished rock bottom of the league. Doolan has been on the decline for the last 3 or 4 seasons but obviously a good bloke and up for a laugh in the bar so he's a shoe in. Howe scored ok but in a rubbish team so was he just the second best of a bad bunch behind Morris? Etheridge had a good year but will he really improve on his average if he's in the main body of the team. What can you say about Gappmaier, fancies it when he gates from reserve (at home) and then horrific away. Morris replaced with Summers? Like swapping Aguero for Kenny Miller. Still, as long as they have a good fence and a laugh and a joke who really cares about being competitive eh

Need the big hitter and a solid tail.

Not sure who else would be in the reckoning for the number one slot. Nicholls, kennett? kermitfrog
Good luck Liam Carr, retiring from the sport. Another Brit gone. Such a shame, the boy has talent, but unfortunatley when clubs mess you about things aren't going to work out.

Nice lad, was on our table at the Robins Dinner Dance recently, valuable number 7 in the title winning play-off team. Telling us about riding with Bridger for his local side. screm
What club messed him about? Â Kind of puzzled me to. Anyway here`s a little bit more detail from the Birmingham site. MD
He is only 21, plenty of time to improve. I thought he would end up at Edinburgh as their 3 pointer next season. A full year there would have got his confidence back.

Started off in the No2 position last season which was always going to be a big ask, then seemed to struggle with new engines which sapped his confidence. He did seem to be doing well at Birmingham and that saw him get guest bookings in the Premiership. You would think there would be teams looking at him for next season but he has made his decision. topsoil
Speedway is a dangerous and expensive sport, I just think if you are a rider you have to have 100% commitment to want to do it. Anything less and doubts creep in. If you are not enjoying it, far better to get out with your health in tact. Remember that bad knee injury he had a couple of year ago. Always sad to lose a young local rider. If this is the end, he will still be able to look back on highlights like his form at the end of the 2016 season and maximums he has scored in the National League this year. Good luck to him.

topsoil
Well deserved for Local lad Leon, but what's the the chances of him riding for his local Club.? I hope he uses Berwick as a stepping stone. Everybody has to start off somewhere. Hopefully people will not put too much pressure on him, let him progress at his own pace. Look at Tai Woffinden, he started off in the National League, moved to the Premier League, the Elite League, now Poland and the world.
