Matej Zagar made it clear he would like to return and would only be on a 8.00 average while Jaroslaw Hampel has been looking at coming back as he looks to get back to the form that made him World #2 before injuries. Pretty sure it will be Craig Cook at 1 but if it isn't they are pretty good names on the waiting list and even Freddie Lindgren as he returns to fitness after a serious injury during his best season so far. Aces High Posted January 15, 2018 Report Share Posted January 15, 2018 It's annoying, and seems silly, but it is the best way to do it because of how twitter and facebook newsfeeds work. Announcing the team in one go would get lost in the news feed on the day it is published. If it is split out into 7 stories (or 14 as they seem to be doing a post the day before about an announcement) that continue to generate likes and comments over a period of time far more people are likely to see at least one of the announcements that way. Last week the announcement of Worrall resulted in a sizeable article in the local press. This week's announcements will probably do likewise and so will the remaining announcements. Exactly why Matt Ford came out and said it’s stupid from a club perspective to announce like Ipswich. Belle Vue being very sensible. Ipswich riders since before christmas have been to many corporate functions and also time at local schools as well as the ties with the football club. The promotion are getting the riders out there and getting maximum exposure from the town. But there are actually less-sad people out there who have a life outside of speedway, and don't spend every hour November to February trying in seek out every morsel of information in the hope of hearing some item of minutiae before someone else. Announcing 7 riders one-by-one gives 7 separate news items in the local press, and 7 different chances to catch the eye of the casual viewer. Heaven forbid that a non-fan just happens to see an item in a newspaper in January/February about the signing of a new speedway rider for the upcoming season and thinks "hmmmm I might go along and see what that's all about" 4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chris Louis actually commented when he revealed the Ipswich 1-7, that although some clubs like to drip feed, he much prefers to do a full 1-7 reveal as soon as the signatures are on the contracts. That’s his prerogative and works best for HIM. Just because your promoter/Club prefers to drip feed, doesn’t mean the way Chris Louis prefers to do it is “stupid” There’s so much to be done over the winter that Louis prefers to get the team side of things out the way as soon as possible, and then concentrate on the business side of things like sponsorship etc. Each to their own. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
