Ipswich V Sheffield Po Final 2nd Leg 30-9-17

Recommended Posts

That was my estimate Cookie.

The main back straight stand has 3500 seats and looked 3 quarter full.

The home straight stand and to bend 1 was full.

Bend 1 and 2 terracing and vack straight below main stand upto bend 3 was 10+ deep all round. Thats about 200 metres.

So over 2000 in main stand

500 home stand and towards bend 1

2000 on main terracing

Thats how I estimated it.

What a good place to hold an English Grand Prix

Nothing will happen with the pa speakers on the back straight, as not owned by the speedway, and I've heard if you mention it to louis then he gets the arse. So Kevin Long was there last night?? Why wasn't he on the microphone?? Best presenter by far and I doubt he didn't offer his services. Would love Kevin to come on here and tell me why??

Kevin owns or is manager of a pub now.

Very much doubt we will hear him in the mic at Foxhall much anymore

But other countries have more than one, why not here? What also the point of having a national stadium that isn't used for more bigger events

You forget that England is only one of four countries that make up the UK. So why not give Wales one, Scotland one, etc.

Agree about the national stadium and should be used for big events. As far as the GP's are concerned can't see any need for other than the current Cardiff arrangement within the UK. As you'll be aware, there's political/financial clout reasons why certain other countries have more than one grand prix.

But he was there last night? There was also a rumour he offered his services..from my point of view I would find that very disrespectful to Kevin if they used someone else.

Assume accidental that you "liked" your own post! :D

this is what Kevin put on his facebook:

If you wonder why I'm not on the centre green tonight. A few weeks ago I told the Club I'd be unavailable for the rest of the season (being busy with my new job)

I've managed to get this evening off for the Final and on Monday I let Chris Louis know of my availability for tonight.

He, quite rightly, thought I wouldn't be free on a Saturday night, so had arranged cover for presenting the final.

However, I like to be involved on race days, so once I informed Steve (Re-Run) he was delighted that I can be part of the DVD presentation.

Tonight is surely going to be the biggest speedway meeting at Foxhall for many years, so don't miss it folks!

Look forward to seeing you there!

Lot of comments on the Sheffo twitter feed last night about the difficult track etc.

What was it actually like?

On the face of it looked absolutely fine but theres no doubt a few were having some minor troubles particularly around bends 1 and 2
