Would love to see Kennett change his mind & sign for Newcastle, & there aren't that many matches per season now. If he signed for a southern team, he would still have all the away matches to travel to.

Yeah, but not as far on a regular basis,,,

Maybe boomerang has a solution ;)

What of the chances of us still getting Lewis Rose.  I understand he has signed in Poland and according to Stal Rzeszow they have named all of the following riders as part of their squad, no disrespect to Lewis but what chance has he got of actually getting a ride?

@GregHancock45 @morra2012 @NicklasPorsing M.Kuciapa T.Jędrzejak D.Stachyra E.Mazur @RorySchlein3 @Rose822 @aaronsummers88 @kyle_howarth P.Wojdyło M.Rząsa M.Curzytek A.Bieliński A.Potoniec

They have named 16 riders, they only need 7 (10 max I would think) and I do not know how much experience Rose has on Polish tracks, but would he even be ahead of Summers, Schlein or Howarth.  I am not meaning to sound unkind to Rose as I think he is a cracking racer and love watching him, just if he is sitting out the Championship (not saying he is) waiting on a ride in Poland, will he even get one?

I am struggling to come up with 2 names to fill our remaining slots and think Rose is a good shout and I don't think he would miss many or any fixtures based on above.

Problem is he shows up well in practice, so they include him in 1st meeting and he's scores 8/ 9 so he's in again the next week, and the week after,. And it would only be a NL 2.00 guest if he missed any Diamond meeting

I'm unsure about the Newcastle DIamonds squad so far. Wrote a couple of articles about them so far with some thoughts on Ashley Morris and Carl Wilkinson. 1 about the signing of Carl Wilkinson and 2 about Ashley Morris and whether he can be an effective heat leader for the Diamonds or not.

Heat leaders will be:

1. Still to be signed

5. Lindgren

3. Robson

Pleased to see Ashley back but he's no heat leader...

Ashley Morris won't be asked to be a heat leader.  He will start at reserve and maybe go into the main-body of the team as a second string.  Something he was successful at last season in the difficult number 2 spot.

It'll be fine.

I remember enjoying the season when as I recall we had  Rune Knudsen at #1 and only Dickie could lay a glove on the opposition's heat leaders.

I know that it is said that crowds come to watch a winning team but to my mind if the budget this season is based on crowd levels being the same as last year then we are down to the hard core anyway and most of us will go every week regardless. I'd be interested to hear Tsunami's thoughts on that.

Anyhow,  in George we trust. Given that the 6 point rule has been blown out of the water (as it always was going to be if it was challenged - I may not know that much about Speedway but I do have some knowledge of that area of the law) what about a last hurrah for Bjarne (not sure about his average mind - I am typing this in a cafe in Tesco's which isn't the best place to research such things!).

The season will start shortly!

I think the longer it goes without getting a no1 the more worrying it gets, seems we must be struggling to get someone and might just end up with anyone, season starts in about 3-4 weeks

Yes it's getting a bit worrying. Although I think there's still decent riders out there it depends what sort of budget we have. Either way we have got to be pleased we will get our weekly speedway fix soon
